You answer my question first.

Sometimes you get a player like an Andrew Johns or a Ponga who has all the natural ability and needs minimal development to be great - but a great coach can turn an average junior into an Origin hopeful.

When ba has at least 6 development players who are set in stone first graders and are winning us games and finals, you can come back and have a proper conversation with me Pou Pou

Tell me why is there only one player who has been developed by ba - Mahoney, that is good enough to be in the Eels starting 13 ? 6 years and we have one player who's good enough to start.

Gutherson manly
Ferguson roost
Jennings roost
Hoff Broncos
Sivo penrith
Smith Penrith
Moses Wests
Jnr p Ricky Stuart
Mahoney BA
Evans Roosters
Mau dogs
Lane Dogs
Moeroa Ricky Stuart.

Its obvious that ba must purchase ready made players, as the development ratio over the past 6 seasons has been a major embarrassment coming from one of the biggest jnr areas in the NRL
Our juniors were a rabble since Hagan neglected it

Which other coach has half a dozen rookies playing like seasoned first graders?

You're overestimating how often new genuine first graders arrive in the NRL.

Sivo, Manu , Moeroa all debuted under BA......while gutho played 5 nrl games before coming to us - so you could probably say BA has had fair role in developing those 4.

Then you could add Stone / Marata both debuted under BA and Gower who has played his best footy under BA.

What age would they need to be here to develop them. 17/18?

If Parry,Kafusi,Stefano,Brown,Schneider break grade next year along with Stone,Mahoney and Salmon then you could argue this was his work from 4 yrs ago.....

And as far as I am concerned guys like Nikuore or Lane or Sivo where well spotted by the coach staff.
12mths ago when we signed LANE he wasn't even considered a guaranteed first grader.

You do need juniors but dont rely solely on them. Juniors can be overhyped by fans.
Look at the Panthers ffs. That's a great example.

I thought about it but couldn't be arsed. I don't pretend to be an extra expert like you.
I don’t claim to be an expert on anything, I come on here and give my opinion on what I think. You come on here and rubbish other posters opinions when you barely have an opinion yourself.

Label me a whinger I couldn’t care less but Avenger is spot on you do love splinters.

If the players you mentioned break the grade and are regulars in our top 17 next year, ill have to give ba credit, but for now if people have to go as far back as Gower to put forward ba's ability- i won't be crediting fk all

What sort of crap list is this?

Very convenient to just ignore players that debuted under BA, or say he played no part in developing them. BA was at the club before he started as head coach.
Every club signs players from outside.
Players who debut for a club might well get poached by another club with the lure of opportunity/ more playing time/ higher salary (etc)

Players who debuted under BA, and played a significant amount of first grade (whether for the Eels or elsewhere):
Tepai MOEROA (2014)
Pauli PAULI (2014)
Manu MA'U (2014)
Daniel ALVARO (2015)
Bevan FRENCH (2016)
Oregon KAUFUSI (2018)
Reed MAHONEY (2018)
Marata NIUKORE (2018)
Jaemon SALMAN (2018)
Ray Stone (2018)
Dylan BROWN (2019)

You could make a strong argument that he developed players like Edwards, Gower, Gutherson, Terepo, Radradra, Jr Paulo, Sivo, Pritchard, Brown, who had played a handful of first grade games, or whose games improved greatly when Arthur took over their development.

[[There are probably more names, but that's all I could think of.]]

I have lots of opinions mate and have shared many of them over the years. I'm happy to recite them all for you next time we are on the mangoes at Chardon's Corner.

I only rubbish idiot comments where people think they know more than BA and talk out of their arse in the process. I think you raise a lot of good points and I only speak up on things I disagree with. In doing so I offer a different point of view (read opinion).

Avenger is right about a lot of things. Particularly the time that he said I am one of his favourite posters and that this place would be shit without me.

On a very positive note for mine - the unexpected dropping of Takairangi, Alvaro & Mannah is going to prove that the best move ba has made in two years.

I say unexpected because these players have been ba favorites for years, so I'm not sure what's changed.

We can all say, but mannah has been going well, yes but imo, it's time to move on as usually props his age go backwards in performance. Mannah is now a very low priority.
Overall a great move by the club here.
