Another merkin bites the dust:

Alvaro (26) - but with a player option
Davey (28)
French (23)
Gower (34)
Hoffman (31)
Mennings (31)
Leleisiuao (22)
Ma'u (31)
Mannah (31)
McIlwrick (28)
Moeroa (24)
Pritchard (25)
Stone (22)
Takairangi (30)

On top of that, all these junior merkins are possibly off contract as well, though it's less likely for the 19 year olds:

Dunster (20)
Faingaa (21)
Parry (20)
Schneider (19)
Utoikamanu (19)

In order of retention priority:
Mennings (31)
Ma'u (31)
Stone (22)
French (23)
Alvaro (26)
Moeroa (24)
Gower (34) - as a backup
Mannah (31) - sorry, Tim it's time to cut the last of 2009 away
Davey (28) - should be given a run in FG so we can see what he actually has
Hoffman (31)

Daylight...

McIlwrick (28)
Leleisiuao (22)
Pritchard (25)
Takairangi (30)

Agree with most of these though I’d swap positions of Hoffman and French. Hoffman can play multiple positions. French can only play fullback and doesn’t really like contact sports.

I still want to see French behind a pack that wins the ruck and makes good yardage. Unfortunately I don't think it will be one wearing Blue and Gold.

No, I think Moses probably did another shit kick, hence the sarcastic comment. And also he's probably a bit shit.
He did a shit kick because he's a risk taker, in a team that needs some merkin to take risks. One of his touch finders went about 60 metres last night. Obviously when you're that keen some will fail to find touch.

Any of these can stay if they're happy to accept $105k a year

Any of these can stay if they're happy to accept $85k a year

If they all stay even for the low prices you have mentioned then we have the same shit team with the same shit coaches next year.

They won't all accept the money i indicated. In fact, I suggest outside of Gower, Davey and Stone, none would stay for the money indicated.

I'd offer Pritchard $10k a game or a pie and beer after the game. I suggest he'd take the guaranteed pie and beer after the game.

They can all go, I'm not even being funny. It's not worked, they have all had ample time here and done nothing for the club, we could do without them honestly.

I know it isn't realistic in one off season but I would be looking to move all of them on, especially player like Moeora, French and Alvaro. They promised so much mainly Moeroa and French and have delivered nothing short of SFA.

A new coach would also help but a lot of our players just need to go, they haven't been good enough and never will be.

I don't disagree with any of your comments.

I reckon we need 2 forwards, edge / middle, utility/hooker and potentially a centre for 2020. Get those players then work out who we should keep from our current players off contract.

We should only target experienced/leadership type players (however not all potential signings will meet this). We already have plenty of players with potential. Additionally not many players are off contract for 2020, however there is a few off contract in 2020 so we may need to target these players hoping for an early release.

So I would look at:

Middle - Tamou / James / Lodge / Jake T
Edge - Jackson / Frizell / Aubusson
Utility/hooker - peats (can play “lock” too ) / friend /Burher
Centre - Scott / Croker

Obviously not all are going to be serious options (want to much or unlikely to leave).
