If he’s playing poorly because he’s not happy, that’s an issue. He needs to go if that’s the case.

He was great last year, as was DWZ.

My guess is it’s the other way around. He’s not happy because he’s not seeing enough ball, our attacking structures weren’t taking advantage of his talent.

Point is, though, it’s not fair to say he hasn’t played well for a while. 10 games isn’t a while, and the whole backline was poor because of our attack.

yep. We only started hearing about this stuff after the Farcial Magic Round game. Seems like some soul searching was done and a few guys didn't like it

Or last year might of been an abnormality for all we know

Geez that’s an in depth look into his thinking. He was getting as much ball as he’s ever got.

Ten games is almost half the season. He hasn’t a decent game all year that is for sure.

I don’t think it’s all that fair blaming Ivan. I’m quite sure Waqa is being moved on because Ivan thinks he isn’t a good player.
He’s either:

A: Not happy and wants to leave, or

B: Being paid to much and we need to fix up our cap.

If we are honest, Blake hasn’t been that great for a while now. Naden has shown way more in his few appearances. Whilst I admit, Naden has a long way to go, he’s at least hooking in and having real go.

It is always a bit of both here. A happy player won't leave but a club happy with a player won't let them even talk

Maybe what we're seeing is the ramifications of the Griffin sacking. A chain of events that led to the weakening of Gus to the point he was overruled on Bennett, followed by the departure of Gus himself, and now we're seeing players signed by him leaving. Maybe its not over. Gus tried to turn us into the Broncos. The new regime are turning us into the Wests Tigers.

My 2 cents...... We as panther fans are all guilty of it...... but we seem to rate our kids higher than just about any other person that plays the game...... If you look at Waqa with no Penrith bias he is truly an amazing athlete.... but he has hands like feet, is not a centre that is very good at all at setting up his outside men...... and seems to be always injured. The guy has never played Origin and Phil Gould has apparently paid him plenty...... we can replace Waqa easily..... it is a business. I wish him luck.

Unless Nathan has said he hates DWZ and Blake. This roster shit is not his fault. Just because his father is a f**king selfish idiot deadset on destroying the club. Doesn't mean Nathan has done anything to warrant the hate he cops. Deadset.

All I am saying is the next 5 years those 3 people are going to be very influential. Nathan will be the captain soon and will have a say in recruitment and retention.

Was it definitely a player-coach thing? I thought that Parra were offering him better money than our already sizeable contract and Blake was keen for it.

Anyway, bitterly disappointed, despite his ordinary start to the season. Massive fan of the guy. He's someone who's future looked very very bright.

I like Peachey but he doesn't hold a candle to Waqa. We better have some seriously good signings coming down the pipeline.

Unless Nathan has said he hates DWZ and Blake.

If you think all the players get along you are kidding yourself.

When Ivan said there were deeper issues that he needs to get to the bottom of a few weeks ago this is the sort of thing he was referring to.

Instead of trying to manage the situation they have decided to flick players with a potential issue culturally.

Probably now that he’s going to a team that knows how to get their outside backs quality ball and is competent in attack.

Even if Blake isn’t in the upper echelon of centres yet he was still the best back at the club, it’s not like he’s a bad player who was overhyped in our juniors and hasn’t kicked on like so many before him, he has improved massively since his first year and is still only 24. With so much footy ahead of him he could easily become elite.
Of course he will I mean Mitchell Moses is a lot better than James Maloney and Nathan Cleary, but for Waqa to become elite I suppose he’ll have to stay on the paddock for longer periods that he is now, I mean with finals games Waqa has played 88 games out of a possible 130 or so games since 2015 meaning he’s missed around 30% of games he could of played, not real value for money is he

The problem with Nathan/Ivan is that it creates a massive conflict of interest, if Ivan is releasing players that are on overs than I can see where he is coming from.

But Nathan Cleary is our highest paid player and is pretty much safe with his dad around, I’m not writing off Nathan yet but it’s possible he won’t even be worth half of what is he currently on and will never get to that level, but Ivan would never release him, he will probably also get paid higher with his next contract and he will always have a say in the coaches decisions.

I wasn’t against bringing back Cleary when it was first rumoured, but in hindsight with all the shit that’s gone down in the last 9 months, bringing him back may have been the worst decision the club has ever made.
