Touch NRL - Waste

What a waste of NRL fans money opening up stadiums over 2 hours before kickoff just to play touch football that no one turns up or cares to watch

Just like womens RL shown in SOO the sport should be played on standalone venues

And its only played on half fields anyway

Touch is really only half time entertainment when team of 20 sponsers can play a team of ex players

We do need to sort out the Touch v Tag mess also

I got a hot-rod Ford and a two dollar bill,
And I know a spot right over the hill,
There’s soda pop and the dancing’s free
So if you wanna have fun come along with me.

I mean, part of me does get the sentiment of the original post.

I really don't get what is so hard about:

Gates open:

-U21s
-Reserve Grade
-First Grade

Gates close.

We had this sorted out for a hundred years before they started f**king with it. If it's been raining and they're worried about damaging the track, postpone U21s and if necessary reserve grade, because if the weather is that bad people won't be watching the curtain-raisers anyway.

I couldnt give 2 shits what happens before first grade kickoff and neither could about 85% of attendees

What I've never really understood is if you're at a game which is not the first NRL game that day, why oh why do they not put the early game on the big screen? If the early game is a cracker it's always a mad dash from the pub to the stadium, and somewhere like Canberra where the nearest pub is 5000 miles away it's a huge pain.

Exactly.

I just love watching football, so I liked to see the curtain raisers on the rare chance I got to go to an NRL game. But even with the old U20s, if you turn up 90 minutes before NRL kick-off you were lucky to see the last 20 minutes of the U20s because for some reason we needed 40 minutes of nothing and 20 minutes of watching the NRL players warm up on the field before kick-off.

Now there's something I could get on board with.
The pub would still have beer thats $4 cheaper though..

I agree getting rid of the 45 minute warm up period before FG will be a huge improvement to NRL game day experiance

Each clib already pays for 2 full 80 minute games plus 45 minutes of grass growing. Open the gates 30 min earlier and you have 3 games covered as U20s is only 35 min halves

Or save money and only open the gates 20 minutes before kickoff

Hates watching chicks touch each other.

I’m into that big time.

But would you turn up 2 hours before kickoff to watch 2 x 7 minute halves ?

Maybe play those 2 x 7 minute halves one at halftime of RG and one between RG and FG. Womens games only but it should be tag rules

The gap between RG and FG should only be 10-15 minutes max

Far too much common sense for the NRL brains trust.

You need a job? Should just get let yourself in, grab a desk and make shit happen. Would be better than the shit show we see week in and week out.
