Trent Barrett’s return to Penrith next year is part of a wider shake-up of Ivan Cleary’s support staff for next season. Cleary has been monitoring the staff he inherited from Anthony Griffin when he joined the Panthers late last year and was always considering a re-shuffle for 2020. One man who may depart the club is assistant coach Cameron Ciraldo, who has been linked with a job at Newcastle for next year.

It will be interesting to see if Ciraldo departs and who they bring in.

The biggest battle we face with our players is getting the best out of them.
It really feels like players are continually getting worse the longer they are in our team.
There is something not right at the club.
Apart from to’o I can’t really think of a player that has gotten better this year, so all potential signings are a risk.
Maybe it’s the coach, conditioning, feng shui, whatever it is we need to get more out of our squad.
You forgot JFH.

I don't mind as long as it leads to an increase in performance.

Ciraldo is our defensive coach, maybe get docker or plum back to teach the boys how to tackle properly

What about Josh Morris as a stop gap centre for 2020/maybe 2021? He played origin this year and didn’t look out of place, good defensively, good leadership for our backs which would help..

The Morris boys know their way to the try line. Even Ivan's coaching couldn't stop that :p

Wayde on way out at Panthers
The Panthers have told hooker Wayde Egan he is free to find a new club in 2020. With Api Koroisau heading back to Penrith next year, and the club happy with rookie Mitch Kenny's progress, Egan is the unlucky man.

There are a number of clubs - including the Wests Tigers, Bulldogs and Warriors – on the lookout for a hooker next season.

It is. He re-signed at the start of the year. He could still learn off Koroisau and play a vital role off the bench.
Madness to get rid of him with all the time and resources we put in to his development. He has a lot more improvement to come.

I like Api as a player and he will be good for us but there’s no reason why Egan couldn’t develop into as good a player as Koroisau.
