Jack Bird is on big money, constantly injured and probably the most overrated player in the NRL when he is playing plus we have a Maccas right across the road from our stadium, the bloke would never be fit

All that being said i'd take him over Walker...

I was simply discussing my thoughts on an open forum and being possitive. The nucleus of a good side remains. No reason can not be top 5 or 6 next season.
I tend to agree with RCG. But from what I heard Eels are paying around 450-500k. No idea his contract or what is being chipped in. No one knows.

But if prefer I don't occasionally come and share my thoughts I will quietly f**k off.
There was no intention to offend anyone.
Please don't mate we respect you here, I guess some just learn their ways from FB

Ponga = problems, his milkshakes comment, proves how immature he is, we have guys in lower grades like that, not wasting a million on possible talent from elsewhere. Again media hype around a QLDer, he must be special and the next immortal. Mate is good and better than gutho, but so are a lot of players, where was he when NATHAN CLEARY, ran 4 tries past him 2 weeks ago? Yes he was on the floor with a handprint on his face.
That's thick coming from you

Bird was actually pretty good at the start of this season, he was busting tackles and causing a lot of headaches for sides.
I agree he was massively overrated and his injuries have really hampered him but if fit he makes a decent centre with a good bit of ball playing and a offload.
Surely if we sign him we will get some proper medical advice before doing so and broncos would have to pay some freight.
I would be happy enough to see him get a 2 year deal.

Bird isn’t a 5/8, at least not at the panthers. He’s a ball runner, we need a ball player.

Has good hands though, was great in his few games at fullback for the Sharks.

Fitness fitness fitness. Give him a treadmill and some Ibuprofen. Should get at least a good couple years from him that way. I like what I saw early 2019...before his latest injury.

The injury Bird suffered isn't just any old injury. It was an ACL rupture. For some players that's basically a career killer. Even if he comes back he might not be the same. It would be a massive gamble to sign him unless he was super cheap.

And he would be super cheap.

I think Penrith are done paying overs for a while. Its come back to bite us big time.

Its a bit different for top shelf purchases like Korisau, you don't mind throwing a bit more their way to secure a deal. I'm certain they aren't going to pay more than what Bird is worth.

What Betcats said about Bird's arthritis is a massive concern. That's not just something you shrug off or pop a pill and get through. I can't imagine it's a secret in the RL world though, let alone something that would get past a routine physical. I just can't imagine how we would sign someone with a problem that debilitating.

I'd take a firing Bird over Walker any day.

Reading some suggestions that the tigers are looking for swap deals for Matterson. Makes some sense, they wouldn’t want to lose him for nothing.
