Chricton, Burns, Whare, Naden, Yeo, Liau, May, Cartwright even Mansour.
Any of these guys can cover us thru next year, plus whatever juniors come thru in too, no point wasting good money on a centre, its a position that can bring up new guys. Waqa and Whare last year were injured we had peach and Yeo cover till they came back, im more concerned if we are buying for sake of buying.

And you also have to consider Penrith's style of football. Unless there is a dramatic change in 2020 our centres won't see much ball.

Its literally a down the line thing. Especially if you think about red zone attack.

Fix your front row to break tackles and create quick play the balls.

Get a decent hooker who will run the ball and take pressure off the halves (Korisau - Check).

Get halves who distribute the ball early and have a ounce of creativity. Can run a set play without being too telegraphed to give it away (Our big question mark in 2020).

Get backrowers who can throw a pass, have an offload or run a good line. Plenty of talk about our glut of backrowers...I just don't think they are that good (Besides Kikau).

Then you've got your centre. Imagine buying Latrell for 800k knowing all the other issues we have to contend with.

I know they’ve played there, and they’ve mostly been average.

Naden has been good in attack, bad defence, bad at passing the ball.

Luai & Burns looked good against a Newcastle team that had given up.

Whare offers nothing in attack

Yeo has poor lateral movement, offers little in attack


The options quite frankly suck.

We definitely need at least one centre upgrade. Whether that's Walker, Scott or to a lesser extent/want Ramien.

Even Seve from Melbourne would be a good fit for us.

If the Storm lose Chambers I doubt they lose Scott too. He seems to be back in favour.

The thing with those 3 Flegg guys they are 18. They still could play another year in u20's so like the backrow we are a season or 2 from having quality there

Big. Powerful. Pretty quick but not exceptionally. Capable of remarkable stuff but lacking brain power and ability to read a game for centre. Also handy in the air and IMO a waste not being on the wing. I see him having less weakness as a winger and being able to focus on his strengths.

But unless it happens its an opinion that could be wrong though. Can never be 100% certain a move works as expected

I agree, won't rule out centre but I reckon he will become a great finisher on the wing. Even if Nathan Cleary just gets better an 5th tackle options and starts kicking well to his side we will see more points in 2020.

He’s really good on the wing, saw him play a Koori knockout when he was just out of sg ball, i honestly thought that was his position, no thinking just run forest run

I think you're right. He'll also bulk up a little as he grows into his body as an athlete so he'll have nice strong carries like Fergo starting our sets as well.

Seems unlikely. A strong denial below. His management has been going around trying to gauge his worth beyond 2020.

Tyson Frizell denies he wants to quit the Dragons

St George Illawarra’s star back-rower Tyson Frizell has again been forced to defend his future at the club after reports surfaced — for the second time in recent months — that he wanted out of the Dragons.

Frizell quashed suggestions this week that he wanted to move on from the Dragons immediately, despite having a year to run on his deal.

This time the representative forward was linked to a potential move to Parramatta.

But Frizell reinforced his commitment to the Red V despite their disastrous 2019.

“I am not looking to get out of my contract at all nor am I unhappy at the club,” Frizell said.

“I have no idea where these rumours come from.”

Frizell extended his stay at the Dragons until next year in 2016. And next year he is on a significant monetary whack.

Frizell has had preliminary discussions with the Dragons about staying beyond next year.

Part of those talks have included Frizell’s management getting a gauge about their client’s potential worth on the open market — which is potentially why news of Frizell wanting out has surfaced.

Frizell was on hand to watch the Dragons’ Canterbury Cup side play at Kogarah Oval on Sunday and was around the club again earlier this week. No one at the Dragons has any indication that Frizell wants out.
