Are you serious? That one game is better support that he can play there then whatever you basing your opinion that he would be a disaster there, much better evidence like what are you on about? lol

“whatever you’re basing your opinion on”

You mean like his defence over 13 games?!

His defence is poor, that isn’t changing in the centres.

I know we disagree a bit betcats, but this is one of your worst.

No cry here buddy just a simple shut the f**k up, i calkes you a keyboard warrior coz youre calling us out as if we approve of what did in the past, i don't care about his past, i dont condone it either, but who the f**k are you to judge, so simply shut up
Wow, you're a real f**king tough guy hey? Nah, I don't think I will "shut the f**k up" actually... but thanks anyway. You don't approve, but you also think it's a non-factor, I disagreed. What's next tough guy? Wanna fight me behind the bike sheds...? You're an absolute f**king pleb mate. Seriously, go read your past posts to hindy, then take your own advice, tough guy.

You are flat out wrong. He has played there and was not a disaster, there is absolutely no prediction or argument you can make that changes that fact.

There is a strong link between being subjected to abuse as a child or witnessing domestic violence as a child (eg. your Dad beats your Mum) and becoming an abuser. We have no idea what type of childhood Tevatano had and whether he was abused and witnessed his mother abused. A child has no control over that and it impacts them massively for the rest of their life. My own Father was beaten as a child and he is now 79 and it still affects him to this day. I am grateful that he never abused us, his own family, but the level of anger he had from the abuse he suffered, still takes my breath away when it bubbles to the surface. This is a complicated, difficult, confronting and emotional subject.

No excuses, an abuser must be punished and stop what they are doing. That includes sending them to prison sometimes. If life was simple, the punishment would end the cycle of violence and that would be the end of it. But stopping it requires more than just saying "you are bad. Stop it or else". He needs counselling and support and made to face the consequences of his actions.

it is better for society that he can stop the cycle of violence and given help to become a better person. Continually punishing him will not change anything. Should we condemn somebody to be punished for the rest of their life for mistakes they have made? Compassion and forgiveness are part of what makes us human. We need to help people like Tevatano so he doesn't repeat the cycle of violence for the rest of his life. If the club has done its homework and he is a reformed man, then they are demonstrating great courage and compassion by giving him a chance at the Panthers.
I don't agree, it's a choice. I witnessed it as a kid (step-dad on mum) and also watched my current missus go through hell having to relay her experience with her ex in courts... so yeah, I don't think that is an excuse.

Now I may come across as a little over invested in this, and maybe I am, but as said above this shit hits home for me. This sort of stuff, in my own personal opinion, is unforgivable.

Guys attack the club for signing him or go after him personally. There is nothing wrong with fans who don’t care what he did the past. I don’t like him, don’t want him here but I’ll probably cheer for him next season.
And I get that mate, I do. As stated, this is just a little too close to home for me.

But, I can admit when I'm starting to carry on, and this seems to be one of those times. Sorry to @MugaB I never meant to carry on like an idiot.

The jersey is what you cheer for. The best possible eligible players too. Personally I will steer clear of him at club functions but he is allowed to play. Rather him do that for us than against us

It isn’t a long term solution. I think Crichton will develop into one of the best centres in the game but at 19 won’t be there yet

Which makes me think Capewell is a stop gap solution until we sign another centre or until Crichton comes of age.

You are not bothering me mate but it’s going to be a contentious issue that isn’t going anywhere so tryimg to avoid this dragging out all year.

Thats nice took all of one second to read your apology, then this quote,
Just grow up bro, i too am sorry for your past if it indeed is true, but im not here to judge anyone, alls i was saying is we both avoid each other, or we can just say sorry, move on, talk about centres or lack therof, like everyone else here, we dont need to get all deep into person lives, hell i wont even call you a hippy no more, sound fair?

I'm not sure what to say. I understand that people can change. I understand that the guys that beat women have often had pretty horrible experiences growing up. I understand that a footy club is a business and that by restricting ourselves from players who've behaved poorly the club would be putting itself at a competitive disadvantage against the rest of the league.

I can only relay my feelings on signing a guy like that. I'm not happy. I have no interest in cheering for him. I'm not going to pretend I'll be stewing if he crashes over for a matchwinning try in a preliminary final, but seeing him in a Panthers jersey is going to leave a pretty reliable sour taste every time it happens.

Ivan might be onto something here,
2nd rowers are becoming more agile, plus if your a big centre like BJ or latrell you'd be not running over centres so easily if they were sam burgess size.
maybe we are going defensive this year, Ivan sure likes his defence.

It makes perfect sense you hold the opinion you do. Mine was my mother against us as kids to the point the police got involved and I have permenent issues where I struggle socially (you can tell in my video audio). So I understand where you're coming from.

Throw in a FB that can't play make and it is a grinding team.

So for some spark the centres need to be mixed up I see it to create something or it will be low scoring grinding wins or a long year

That would be a really strong starting pack though, that would make plenty of metres and create space for our halves. So I still don't think we need two out of position centres to make up for lack of points.

But after last season, I'd be happy for low score grinding wins all year - just as long as we are winning games and making the play offs.

Aww my heart bleeds for him. f**k the low merkin

I'll admit I'm a bit more of a bleeding heart than you obviously are. We are all subject to our environment when growing up. It impacts of how we see the world.

I really don't care one way or the other. Like Franklin I support the club and the jersey not the inidvidual. It doesn't stop the upset and dismay when players do the wrong thing, May is a perfect example. It will be fascinating to see how this plays out.
