Lets see if it changes under Deano.

I highly doubt it. At his age if he hasn't nailed attitude by now he never will. To me it looks like the players love Mary but I guess his game plans etc just aren't working. I feel he's probably over complicating things too much. We really need an old head to come in and simplify everything. Something a rookie will never be able to do in a million years.

Sailor very poor in defence at this stage I'm afraid.

I couldn’t comment as I haven’t seen enough of him (Sailor) in the top grade, but I’ll take your word for it.
It’s for a similar reason I can’t entertain the thought of Dufty at five- eighth! I’m a fan of his attacking powers and certainly appreciate what he brings to the side in asking questions of the oppositions defence which assist others e.g Lomax, Wingers etc...but I just don’t seem him as having the necessary rigor, technique and defensive qualities to be a starting first grade five-eighth. Happy to be proved wrong, just can’t see it!

With 6 games remaining, for me Norman has 2 games to show that he wasnt tanking due to McGregor. If he continues to play like hes doing the Tennesee Waltz, the its time to see what Sullivan can do at 5/8.

I truly (just my opinion) think Sailor wont be with us next year and Dufty isnt a specialist 5/8. I think the recent signings of our junior halves pairing confirms that wont happen.

Norman is cactus if this is Coach Dean’s way

Time will tell. The problem we have is no other club wants him so we may be stuck with him next year.

If we cover 30-50% of his salary for 2021 I’m sure someone will bite. Personally I think it would be a good decision for the club to make.

50% still saves us about 400 thousand so gives us a nice little bank to top up one of our promising juniors and have money to get an up and comer in a position we need to strengthen
However its not like Normans hilight reel is that long or spectacular so would be a hard sell to opposition in my opinion .. If he cant be shifted then he just may have to play CC to earn his money

ESL or possibly union may be an option. Both could be desperate enough to sign former “NRL star”.

Norman's future will be determined by Norman and his manager. Another big mistake made by Millward. This along with the long term extension of Aitken and Lafai is the main reason we have had such a mediocre backline over the past couple of years. Norman should be dropped and told that he is free to speak with other clubs but 'the Dragons will not be parting with any salary subsidy'. Norman should be told that he can have a release only on the condition that his contract with the Dragons is terminated. I believe only an ESL club would be interested in taking him under this condition.

And under no conditions should Millward be recruiting a player from the ESL where a transfer fee is part of the deal. We need to refresh our roster so why not negotiate a loan or swap instead.
