They are in a race to the bottom and are f**ked no matter who gets in. Far too much division and partisan politics. A big lesson for other nations on how not to trash your collective brand on the world stage.
Division caused the Trump presidency, not the other way around.

Do you see it getting any better?
I can only see it getting worse tbh.
Exactly. Merkins thinking a Trump election loss is going to fix things have no idea. Demographic change has caused division in America and it's not going to stop. A significant portion of the US elite are pushing the idea that potential citizens are more important than existing citizens. Obviously this is true from the economy's perspective, but politically it's a recipe for insurgency. It's no coincidence that those who are well served by the economy are most worried about guns.

Not suggesting that isn’t the case. He realised that and has dialled it up to 11. It’s schoolyard shit that I think is beneath how the leader of the free world should act. That said, he didn’t ever promise to be polished.

He knows how to position himself as persecuted and as someone who is ‘fighting against the system’, but what’s his antidote? His actions are largely off the cuff and lack any real policy nous and I think his presidency has been fairly chaotic without any real achievements of note.

The one positive I will say is that for all his unpredictability he is arguably more transparent than the average politician. He never leaves you wondering why he has decided something even if the logic appears flawed.

He seems to be clawing back ground against Biden and I predict he will be re-elected.

No I don’t why is why I said that they are ‘f**ked no matter who gets in’.

I agree with Pou’s point that American citizens are divided. Are politicians reflective of the citizens or the citizens reflective of politicians? A bit of both to be honest. It’s a nice big symbiotic relationship of plop and it will be a long time before they recover (if at all).

yeh, I'd say just about everyone,

I mean as not as though the f**kwit didn't have enough warnings from WHO and health officials ffs
Warnings are meaningless without the power to control things. Trump can't even get state governors to enforce immigration law or prevent looting, yet you think he could've stopped a virus.

When Trump tried to close the US borders the WHO criticised the move. The WHO belongs to China. Their credibility is no better than Trump's or Biden's.

Its tough when you have to rely on cooperation with the states but that doesn't exonerate him.

Firstly, why is his relationship so poor with all of the states and what role has he played in creating that relationship? He would stand a better chance if he didn't shitbag every democrat state and constantly blame them for everything. No-one is suggesting that he could have 'stopped a virus' (ridiculous exaggeration) but the constant whining and finger pointing between the feds and the states was a terrible look and did more harm than good.

That said, it is politics and the relationship will never be perfect and sadly, many states use moments like these to exercise their sovereignty.

I thought Trump did OK in the beginning but like a lot of things he got bored and was distracted by the next shiny ball. The fact that he went from almost daily briefings to pretending that it didn't exist (whilst the numbers were still growing) was so unbeliveably weird. He talks about the 'evil press' in the US but if ScoMo did something similar over here he would have been skinned alive! The merkin should have at least had the guts to stick it out and explain to people what was happening.

RBA 'green-lights' risk-taking in property investment

Economics correspondent

The Reserve Bank of Australia has effectively "green lit" risk-taking on property investment, and the biggest change in policy in 27 years has not only triggered a home loan war but also raised the prospect of another house price bubble.

A day after RBA governor Philip Lowe's bombshell speech, mortgage lenders were preparing for an intensification of an already "brutal" battle for market share and a resulting sharp increase in home prices.

f**king crazy. Allowing desperate no-hopers to take on ruinous levels of debt just to prop up asset prices. It is predatory.

What would you do if you were the Reserve Bank Governor faced with a pandemic recession (depression?) . It's easy to take pot shots isn't it ?
