The Anthem Debate.

Again origin is around the corner and again the Australian national anthem is being called into question and I'm curious to learn what everyone's opinion is of it.

I've started a seperate thread to try and keep it from diverting away from other Souths/footy related discussions.

Personally, i believe it should be changed one way or another for the reason that i don't believe it represents our Indigenous Australians at all.

A national anthem should unite and represent the nation as a whole. We currently have a song written that only represents Australians who arrived after 1770.

I don't want to go all #BLM as it's not my go but we can do more to respect the Aboriginal community, starting by including them in the national song.

"We are young and free"
They are already included in the current anthem.
The Indigenous are literally the only Australian's that aren't represented in the anthem.

Seriously, I Am Australian is the ideal anthem IMO.

Just as well new Zealand doesn't have such small thinking.

Hey if we're going to sing it in Maori then why not greek/italian/lebanese/chinese/vietnamese/russian/Ukrainian.
