Trump’s claim of a really unfair election includes...

“Millions of postal votes were mailed to people who never asked for them”

“ I was leading, often solidly, in many key states, in almost all instances Democrat run and controlled. Then, one by one, they started to magically disappear. “

So the guy who ran Iran Contra from the CIA end is wishing well to the guy he was using as a receiving point (as Governor of Arkansas) during that same Iran Contra scandal?

I'm shocked.

PEACEFUL TRANSITION OF POWER, EVERYONE!

DRUMPF IS A TYRANT! THIS IS PROOF!

I thought he’d get in as well. I just wasn’t stupid enough to put $1000 on it.

<cough> facts matter <cough>

Because there is no centralised federal election system, it has become tradition in the US that “decision desks” at media organisations make a call that states have been won by one candidate or the other when enough votes have been counted. States that are too close to call – such as Nevada and Georgia at the moment – remain in the balance until a network “calls” them.

"Tradition"

:p

How about the law?

Look at Bush vs. Gore, for example. In the end, Gore knew that the Floridians were just going to nominate Bush, anyways, as was their legal right. It's well established in law, it's actually happened before in the US. As a matter of fact, back in 2016 the Clinton camp were even touting trying to get states to do this as a way to stop Trump gaining the nomination.

But The Guardian says that news organisations decide elections. OK, got it.

I'll get my winnings, trust me.

But, having said that, I was stupid not to play the markets when they started swinging. Biden was at $4.50 at one point and Trump then blew out to $17. There was money to be made and I wasn't on it.

Ladbrokes still have my bet as active, by the way...

Fact matter mate.

AP have been calling elections for 100 years.

https://www.ap.org/en-us/topics/politics/elections/how-we-call-races

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/11/02/business/media/associated-press-presidential-election.html

Don’t know why you are talking about the Gore thing.

AP does not make projections or name apparent or likely winners. If our race callers cannot definitively say a candidate has won, we do not engage in speculation. AP did not call the closely contested race in 2000 between George W. Bush and Al Gore – we stood behind our assessment that the margin in Florida made it too close to call.

I'm pretty certain those wild swings were people gaming the odds and the agencies struggling to balance their books.

Oh, and no, you won't mate. Soz.

I will.

Pennsylvania will go to the SC and fall Trump's way, as it's the legislature that set the rules not the judiciary (see, once again, the Bush/Gore case).
Michigan will come back to Trump after they check the rigged Dominion software.
Arizona might go his way naturally.

And, failing all of that, Trump still has, as I've said above, the Constitution in his favour - if he can get the state legislatures to side with him, that is.

The media does not decide the race. I don't care if AP wank on about how long they've been doing it. They don't do it.

Everyone needs to take a chill pill because this is far from over. Bush/Gore took 37 days and only stopped because the electors have to do their thing in mid-December. I wouldn't be surprised if this went the same length of time.

Do you really think the GOP will go that level of nuclear?

I mean there's a bit of noise being made by some that they should, and I wouldn't put it past the Donald to try it on, but really, the consequences in this atmosphere would be extremely dire.

It’s cute that you think you know more than climate scientists, epidemiologists and now lawyers and political science professors.

Perhaps Trump’s strongest case led to an order Friday night by Chief Justice Samuel Alito for Pennsylvania election officials to separate mail-in ballots that arrived after polls closed Tuesday.

While the state Supreme Court said they could be counted if they arrived by Friday, Republicans argued the court overstepped its authority in the ruling.

The appeal presents a paradox for the president, said Penn State political science professor Michael Berkman.

“If Trump is behind, arguing they don’t want them counted doesn’t make much sense,” Berkman said.

And the more the margin between Trump and Biden grows as the count continues, the more likely the case is to become moot, he said.

While the Supreme Court’s ruling was seen as a victory for Trump, it could present a tactical disadvantage in any other effort to discredit the legitimacy of Pennsylvania’s election results, Harrow said.

Even before Alito’s order, Pennsylvania election officials were keeping late-arriving mail-in ballots separate from others. If they had not been segregated, it could make Trump’s case for a recount stronger.

BTW as at 5 mins ago, the Biden count has eclipsed the recount threshold

I dont believe he did.
I offered him a $120 bet for drinks on bar for anyone on here while I'd outlay $200 and he didn't accept.
Had he already risked $1,000 what is $120?
