The Test - Amazon Series

Just came across this... TBH... I’m not a big fan of these Amazon series but I’ve enjoyed the first 3 episodes.

JL seems like an emotional bloke but I like his passion. I do wonder if he has a little too many cooks in the kitchen which can dilute the message but I’m only up to the Boxing Day test in 2018.

I kinda don’t mind Paine... I’ve never rated him that much as a player if I’m honest but I can see atleast early on he’s really the leader of them.

I’m interested in seeing the dynamic change when Smith and Warner come back in.

anyone else seen it?

Seen some highlights on YouTube. But I'm hesitant to pay for Amazon Prime to watch it in case these highlights are the standout moments while the rest of the series is shit.

yeah... let’s just say I didn’t pay for it either... :joy::joy:

It’s not just the series though... that ashes series is only the last 2 episodes.

the standout moments really aren’t the moments you think... case in point the Ben Stokes innings which won the 3rd test... the innings wasn’t the interesting thing to me... the next day when JL made them sit down and rewatch the final 15 overs... and watching Paine trying to justify to JL why he didn’t bring the field in on the last ball of each over to get Stokes off strike and letting the bowlers get 6 cracks at the number 11.

Or Ricky Ponting having a word with David Warner about his lack of batting in the nets... and Warner trying to tell punter he’s wasn’t lazy but just didn’t like over batting in training... :joy::joy:

all that stuff was fascinating to me...

Oh its back. Get your burner email address ready and sign up for your 30 Amazon trial.

Hoping for a Tigers Town cross over at some point. Would be good to see Justin Pascoe get in a room with the Test team.

If they spent the same amount of time on their tactics and skills as they did about culture and trying to see whose farts are the most pure they might be a decent side. Some of the dribble was pure cringe.

I grew up as kid in the early 2000s loving Gilly. I would be gutted if I ever missed him bat on TV when I was a kid. I was devastated when my puma bat broke at training I think I was 11 and had to settle for a Gray nicholls one next as that was the cheaper bat that my parents could afford.

He was a great entertainer who played the game the right way while having his own charisma about him.

I am not sure if anyone of this current group grab the young audience the way the likes of Gilly, Warnie and that crop did.

This.

Would've been great to have watched an Amazon-type documentary series done on the Aussie team during the early 2000's.

Just finished the series.

I missed the Sri Lanka series due to being in the US for 3 weeks when that was on and didn't see a ball. So was hard for me to relate when it came to onfield performances

I didn't realise the whole country of Sri Lanka was in chaos when we played them and the president basically got marched out of his position.

A couple episodes in. I reckon the first series was much better so far.

They should bring back the guy who played Justin Langer last time around he was outstanding.
