The problem is Fergo.

Possibly, but he is also key to our attack, like a poor man's Brian To'o. So we've needed to carry him in defence. Also don't forget Ferguson wasn't shit enough to stop the Roosters winning a premiership.

Anyway there's a reason we're happy to let Ferguson's contract run out. Hopefully Sivo and whoever plays right wing next year (Waqa Blake?) can provide enough go forward out of the backfield, because Gutherson doesn't get many quick play-the-balls.

I think the problem is that BA and the coaching staff are asking players to shoot out of the line and attack the ball player while the inside players rush across and cover the opposition winger.

I don't think Fergusson is up to that task, Tom and Jakob are no where near fast enough to cover the kinda of ground required and finally latrell is way too skillful with his quick hands to be troubled by that.

Shame BA and his staff can't indentify these issues before the game.

Has Joey Johns Eels tenure been a success?
Apart from improvement to Rheeds game I can't say I see much else. Our kicking game is similar. Our attack appears similar. Moses these past two weeks has been average when on the back foot. Whilst I support his appointment is Joey worth the money? I can only assume if his ideas went being utilised by our coaching team he wouldn't hang around.

I know Moses hasn’t been brilliant the last 2 weeks, but prior to that I think Moses has become more composed and taken another step up in his game. Still has a lot of work to do no doubt

Could be. I recall Moses saying it's the first time he's ever been coached at half back play so I was hoping to see some special touches this year. I applaud the club for bringing him on board. I suppose I was expecting more.

Three weeks ago when Moses put on a masterclass, Joey was a genius. Now not so much.

Seriously at the beginning of the year everyone would have been very happy with 9/3 heading into origin. You do know we’re not 3/9, right ?

Absolutely any fan should be stoked with being 9 wins and 3 losses going in to Origin.

There is a caveat though in that this year has been so lopsided in terms of results where you've got teams shitty teams like the Cowboys and Titans and Dragons in line right now to play finals footy.

I was never concerned about our ability to play finals footy. My concern is that we don't know how to lift when we get there. Our current record is irrelevant in that regard

If those clubs play their best and we play our best we will lose. And it won't be anybody's fault. At full strength they are better than us. Why do merkins need a scapegoat?

I think the fact they’re better than us is more of a coaching issue than a roster one.

Penrith don’t have that much more origin and finals experience than us. You could also argue we don’t have better finals/origin experience because we haven’t performed as well as we could have due to the coaching deficiencies.

Moses is doing his job.

Except he was pretty poor against Manly.

This might sound really, really daft, considering we have come off the back of two consecutive thumping, but...

At our absolute best, I honestly believe we can match it with Penrith.

The issue is I don't have much faith that we can get to that level.
