He's been Watmong for a very long time!

If there was a matchday thread for the 2004 match where he singlehandedly blew a 24 point lead by charging down every Dragons kick in the last 20 minutes of the game it would probably be an all timer.

how must the Cowboys be feeling, having watched Chad all year (well, last 3 years) for the Sharks, and then that game for the Warriors… $800k a year, for 3 years…. $800k a year… eight hundred thousand dollars a year….. he’s earning more in 1 season than his total worth for 3….

UNBELIEVABLE…

Chads manager has definitely earned his 6%….

...add to that the figures Moylan and Dugan have been on, not to mention players like Pearce (1 million), Hunt (squillions) and Norman have been earning for years.

I don't get it.

What do clubs see in these players to feel they have to pay insane overs and ruin their cap for years on end??? What do they add???

Mlb take a backup fullback and turn him into one of the best halves in the comp inside of 18 months and don't need to pay him a million a season.

Why is it that no other coach in the last 20 yrs can hold a candle to Craig Bellamy and the players he recruits and develops?

Due to the lack of quality halfbacks, anyone with even a modicum of talent who plays there will get paid higher than they may otherwise have. That's why Hunt, Norman and Pearce have been on big money.

The problem is anyone with an IQ over 0 said at the time those contracts were signed that they were massive overpays and a salary cap albatross. I can guarantee Townsend will go nowhere near returning any value for the Cowboys at that rate. Reynolds is a heap better player and he will be getting paid LESS than Townsend.

Whoever was involved at the Cowboys with giving Townsend a 3 year $2.4 million contract should be fired now. They literally would have been better off signing no one as this is going to hang around their necks like a millstone inhibiting them for the next three years. It's such obvious short-sightedness and gross mismanagement.

Yes, that was a contributing factor... but they have won f**k all with those blokes... and as was pointed out, the amounts at the time had everyone shaking their heads .. and still does.

Those club could have made much better decisions around lesser names, paid them a third of Hunt, Pearce and Norman etal wages and got the same results on the win/loss table.

Most clubs are simply stupid and lazy and always looking for a quick fix.

Bellamy can develop players in every position, how can every other NRL coach in the last 20 yrs be so poor at developing players????

Reynold's is a steal for the Broncs. His kicking game alone will make them competitive.
