Thought I'd start a thread for general topics so we aren't clogging specific threads with unrelated chatter. I'm one of the guilty ones on that front, so we can discuss whatever off topic shit in here.

It comes down to cause and effect.

You have a choice, just like Api does.

If you don't have it you may have to stay at home. With Api it's about whether he gets a paycheck or not.

Like with driving a car, you must go through the process to get your licence. Drive without it at your own risk. Caught and the penalty will be heavy.
Not much of a choice though is it? Tow the line or lose your livelihood or other things depending on your individual circumstances.

As I said, I made my choice under the duress of being stuck in lockdown, had a reaction and still have to follow through with the second jab as the specialist wont give me an exemption, I even asked for a timed exemption to cover some time to do an actual face to face consult, but no dice. For me to do the things I need to do I cant stay locked down any longer. So it's really not a choice at all. I guess I'll find out in a bit over a week in any case. If it's a few hours of chest pain then I'm ok with that, any more & I wont be around to know about it so that will be that. The specialist wont lose any sleep over it either way. I'm insured for a shitload, so the kids will be alright, but if I stay locked down I wont be able to afford the insurance any longer and given my other issues that isn't an option. And I'm a selfish merkin for preferring not to be vaxxed. f**kin'lol.

The plan for NSW has always been eventually for everyone to be free after a certain point the problem is it’s being pushed back as it’s an evolving situation, they are closely watching countries that have opened up before us and spikes in cases are being reacted to, the virus mutates and vaccines start to lose their efficacy a number of months which all needs to be considered. Unfortunately it’s not a situation we’ve dealt with before and the unknowns mean it will probably take longer then they were aiming for but Britain is Avery good case study for us and atm they are doing pretty well with very limited restrictions, there is no legal social distancing or mask wearing requirements in Britain, its been that way for months. They are basically relying on a high vaccine rate to allow freedom for everyone. That being said there have been some case spikes that have worried many of their medical experts but it’s seems to be dropping off atm.
It does make it difficult that it's a new thing, there isn't much to draw from on how to handle it. I just wish they would cut the bullshit on some of the "facts" there is enough undisputed evidence that shows the problem is real, they don't need to exaggerate things, which just undermines when they are telling the truth imo.

Put it this way, and I do understand life threatening adverse reactions, if you do not follow through and become fully vaxxed, you could die, young.

And I also could live to 100. Aside from the issues I do have, I am actually pretty healthy and have a good immune system. I have never had the flu in my life. All my issues stem from muscular dystrophy. The blood clots and heart attack are side effects of being in a wheelchair and being unable to move around (clots) and not being able to do any cardio (heart attack)

The thing that really pisses me off is that as an adult I'm unable to make the choice that best suits my personal circumstances without penalty. Given my medical history I'm of the belief I'm more at risk of heart complications (backed up by my reaction to jab 1) than I am of a flu virus variant. I'm not an idiot and in a world that I would be free to roam around in unvaxxed I would take precautions. Most of my movements would be associating with family and friends who are all vaxxed, and work related with the odd trip out for lunch, movies etc where social distancing isn't a problem. I'm past the age of going to crowded indoor venues for the most part, and would avoid that kind of thing while active cases are an issue.

I'm sure there are many others in similar situations to mine that feel the same.

Did you ever stop to think about the tiny percentage that have died from the vaccine may fall into a similar category to what I've described? Some no doubt it's just an unfortunate freak reaction, but you are kidding yourself if you dont think some were high risk of reacting and it was foreseeable.

@Aliceinwonderland used a drivers licence as an example earlier, so I'll put it like this. We all know we could die in a car accident if we use our roads. We do it because percentage wise the odds are in our favour if we do the right thing. If we drink a bottle of bourbon and drive flat out down the wrong side of the road the percentage changes. You will likely still survive and get home 9 times out of 10, but find me one sane person that would advocate that being a good idea. I feel that for me taking the vax is not quite the example I mentioned, but I'm definitely driving well over the limit.

I'll have a bit of a look at that tomorrow. Thanks for mentioning it.

Are you on medications. I'd say at a guess probably.

Personally there would be no way in the world I'd be taking anything without chatting to your medical folks first.

Example I'm on a low chemo therapy drug for the arthritis. Because of that combined with an immune drug I can't eat grapefruit.

Yep weird I know. But things can interact without us realising it.

I do hear what you're saying Soc. It can be very difficult.

I am fortunate I've managed (probably luck) to have some good medical folks looking after me.

If you're not happy with the medical advice your being given. Is it worthwhile to change the doctors.

It is confusing.

As a family my ex and I struggled when our 38 year old daughter who had a pacemaker put in this year was needing to be vaxxed. She came through fine using phizer.

Like you she suffers from clotting issues.

Good Luck.

Hopefully you can find someone who is more empathic to you're personal needs.

I am pleased that the vaccines are mandated for a vast majority of industries, and this is the last time I will comment on this subject. I know of people who died from COVID. They were on the anti vaccination camp. Now they paid the ultimate price.

Yes off course, a Talk to a Doctor to make sure it doesn't Interact with any prescribed Drugs. I know for me I take High Blood pressure medication and I have to take Selenium at a different time to them. Also a doctor cannot comment on natural supplements, they have signed up to push Big Pharma, so best to speak to a Nutrapath and only a doctor for interactions.

I think soc presents a tolerable individual argument unlike the total rubbish I'm used to hearing.

True anti-vaxxers are a lost cause. They have a deep level of distrust in government and institutions. It means you can't cite numbers or facts because they think they are made up. In my experience they are also on board with every notable conspiracy theory of the last 100 years. They don't just like that album, the whole catalog is superb.

They also do their own research which should be applauded but unfortunately they draw conclusions on evidence that they don't even understand. The 'sheep' listen to the doctors while they make an informed choice from a dubious pre-print scientific article (Which is highly ironic considering their distrust of science).

Gave it some thought this year and decided to just stop arguing with them. Neither party gains anything from it.

What a load of twaddle.

If you're looking for conspiracy under each and every rock. Then stop taking the blood pressure medication you've been prescribed.

That tin foil hat nonsence about big pharma is just tommy rot. Without very strong medications.....I wouldn't be alive, and def not able to walk. My daughter who has heart and lung issues would also be dead.

Medications perscribed by naturopaths do not have the extensive clinical trials that 'big pharma' (as you call them have). Therefore there effectiveness is not monitored over periods of time.

The research recently done about glucisamine shows that it can be dangerous if you have blood sugar and insulin issues.

Fish oil is similar take too much or have issues with blood sugar levels, or even increased risk of bleeding.

In the media they always mention when someone who died wasn't vaccinated. So if they don't mention it, it must mean they were vaccinated. While there is no doubt it helps, and the vaccines have been much more successful than many thought, they are no guarantee. For a start there are kids under 12, none of whom are vaccinated.

In some cases, naturopathic medications, can cause more harm than good.

I do take some naturopathic medications. Before starting such medications I have an honest and frank chat with my medical team....(yep there is a number of doctors and others who help maintain my heath.)

I believe this is so very important.

I am not not looking for conspiracy. I was just speaking about what I have researched. Not sure why You love to attack others on this page. I take about 4 prescribed medications and about 5 supplements. What did I say so wrong?
