The old action movies made pleading "insane" seem like the softer option.

I have seen an interrogation on youtube where the guy who did the crime is trying to act like he is insane, it's so obviously an act though because when the detective leaves the room his body language changes drastically to that of a normal person

This arguement has been coming a while - and as disgusting as it is, there is an element of rationale in it.
If we are to agree, as is now commonly accepted, sexual orientation is not a ‘choice’ and people are either born straight/gay, and have no choice in who they find sexually attractive, the question could be posed that peados cannot help it - it’s how they’re born. What it doesn’t do though is make child porn or acting on those sexual urges acceptable. Another potential proposal would be that peados are all suffering a serious mental illness, something has happened that has made their brain not work right, and if that’s the case, should they not get afforded the same protection as other mental health issues (schyzos etc)….
I say all that playing devils advocate, I do think they’re mentally deranged, and the ones that act on it in anyway are beyond help - they should all be chemically castrated at 1st offence.

The definition of woke is “alert to social injustice”. Are you saying you don’t like this and would rather the world be ignorant to social injustice? Strange thing to prefer but each to their own I suppose.

No, what I meant was that it is often used (quite lazy) as a response to something someone doesn't like.

For example, when the NRL bought back Simply The Best last year (pre COVID) and had a very heavy Indigenous presence. People responded with 'go woke, go broke'. That to me was I don't like it but I am going to use the new buzz word I heard that guy on Sky News after dark say.

Not making any conclusions as to guilt or innocence in this specific case, but I have wondered if this category of crime would be the next thing to be dragged under the "mental health" umbrella. I mean they already do it for probably the one thing worse than this: murder. People have got extremely light sentences or even no prison time at all for killing if they can convincingly make a case related to mental health. I haven't yet heard it in this area but I have felt that it was only a matter of time before a defense lawyer went there.
I think by definition they are mentally ill but that is not what the law looks for. The mental health defence is about whether they have the mental faculties to understand what they are doing i.e. they aren't in a state of psychosis. On that basis the vast majority of offenders aren't able to use the mental health defence.

That might be the meaning of the word but that is far form the primary focus of the movement in the modern day.

Agreed, people throw it at people whose opinions challenge their own beliefs as an insult when in reality it is a compliment!

The U16 Coogee Wombats RLFC 2022 season destroyed

lol@50uth$

So... who's lying here? Finch who randomly just chooses to coach a U16s team and announces it without the team in question actually knowing it, or the Coogee Wombats official who wants to completely distance themselves from this and come up with that reason.

Who knows?? ...I can't blame the Coogee Wombats guy for wanting to distance their club if he is gilding the lilly though.

Now this was a "wow" Brett Finch incident

State of Origin: Laurie Daley ranks game one win highly, so is it NSW's greatest win in history?

Are you 10?

What kind of adult insult is "shit dick-hole"?
You could almost forgive someone for using it as a verbal insult, heat of the moment, flustered and a bit tongue tied etc.

But to type it, proof read then post, proof read again while smiling that you have this argument won and will soon own the internet, then not hit edit is pretty f**kin' special.

Has anyone ever been handed as many opportunities in RL history as this clown?

He debuts at 17 at halfback for the Raiders. His halves partner in the first 2 seasons? One of the all-time greats, Laurie Daley.

Daley retires and Finch gets the keys to the car. He doesn't live up to his potential, packs a sad when his Daddy gets sacked, and after 2 seasons pisses off to the Roosters to partner who in the halves? Another all-time great Brad Fittler. Fittler carries him to his Origin debut in 04. He plays like shit and gets dropped for the decider.

Fitter retires and he regresses back to the shit player he truly was. Sticky shifts him to hooker and benches Craig Wing who had made the 9 jersey his own. After about 5 other halfbacks go down injured, Finch gets another Origin start in 06 and pulls off one of the biggest flukes in RL history by kicking the winning field goal. He goes back to his normal shit self in game 2 though and is dropped again for the decider.

Roosters fans get sick of him (FOFF), he tells them to kiss his arse during a post game interview. Sticky sacks him and he's sent packing to Parra.

Finch brags about how the Eels had the best backline in the NRL (lol). They win SFA. Daniel Anderson comes in and gets rid of him right away. He ends up where?...Oh Melbourne right next to Cooper Cronk in the halves.

He's carried to an illegal premiership in 09, playing the Eels in the GF no less. Somehow Melbourne thought it was a good idea to breach the salary cap to obtain him.

As soon as they're caught, Finch is obviously the first to go. He joins the biggest club in the UK, the defending premiers at the time, Wigan. They carry him to a challenge cup win in 2011. He returns to the NRL in 2013 and somehow gets re-signed by the defending premiers, Melbourne.

He retires at the end of 2013, gets a job with channel 9 and gets sacked for no-showing due to being a drunk and a coke fiend.

He somehow gets a job at Fox and somehow f**ks that up to. He gets sacked after looking like he's coked up and tweaking on the Matty Johns podcast.

He also gets a job on the Radio with Hadley and no-shows that to snort coke all day. He gets sacked from that gig too.

How does this guy get so many opportunities?
