My point is, if I have to spell it out, you’re doing it after his last 2 performances when he’s at his most expensive. Apologies if you were hammering the club just as hard about resigning him end of last year.
Exactly. All these deadshits were putting shit on him for the last two seasons. Now he's hitting his potential they think he's going to re-sign on unders. He's probably wishing he didn't take up his 2023 option.

Luai, Yeo, Liam Martin, The vicous Fish, Too, Cleary, Critchton all representative players. Heck 3 are the best in their positions in the comp.
Tago,Spencer all chased by others.

We have produced 4 in this period who aren't really at the same level but atleast would be chased by others - Pensini,Dylan,Stefano,Mahoney.

We have lost 2 of them.

Please explain for the dummies why they can keep these booming rookies who are playing for their country or origin and we can't keep guys who haven't even reached that level.

So when have we ever signed a bunch of players who were in high demand? We haven't even been able to keep this sort of player. Even back when we were at our strongest since the glory years (roughly '97-'01) we got the flawed coach players didn't like, and every year we were losing some of our best players. The team from one year to the next had major personnel changes. I reckon 2022 is the first year since the mid-80s where we've had the same strong team as the year before. And next year half the merkins are gone again.
Tahu, Riddell and Morrison all in one hit should of won us a comp. There should be no reason now why we can’t sign anyone we really want. Believe in the club mate, stop being so negative FFS!!

They weren’t certainties at the time they decided to f**k Lewis, Mennings, Moylan, Waqa & RCG off.
Heck there was risk about them when they f**ked Papa Chin off.
They rolled the dice and it’s paid off. But this gamble still has a lifespan. Keeping those boom rookies has meant losing Burton, Gapewell, Kikau. Do they keep Crichton if it costs them Tago in a few years? Do they keep Martin if it costs them Luai? And who externally have they added?
A lot of their success stems from a perfect storm of a playing group. It’s already being carved up and their ongoing level of dominance will rely on if the next player up is capable enough and that itself is another gamble each time.

Capewell is similar to us and Papali'i

Kikau is similar to Marata.

Both bought into the clubs at similar times of career.

They added Korisau. Most the others are home grown which is special in its own. My point is they can afford to lose guys like Burton cause Luai is already there and Tago was waiting. Do you reckon the club didn't have any idea how good Tago was?

We lost Mahoney with no replacement and signed a 33 yld with banged knees. There is a difference. As I said I am less worried about the loss of Marata,Stone and Papa. I feel like we can replace then either internally or buy someone.

Someone on here told me that Hands is a handy No. 9.

Do you reckon every club didn’t have a good idea how good Tago was well before you did? Banking on him filling Burton’s spot is a gamble, but they can afford a bit more risk than most (if not all).
Penrith will also be relying heavily on the old “homegrown players stay for less” in the near future. We did same with Mahoney.

Because most of our best players we bought from other clubs. There's not really any need to replace them with juniors.

Tahu was the only star from those three. And of course we can sign anyone we want. What matters is how cheap we can get them. What if it had cost $700k for Mahoney, or it costs $1.2M to keep Dylan Brown? Fans would be happy, especially because they will never know how much we paid, but is there actually any benefit?

And if we win the comp this year we'll have won the same amount of premierships as them in the past decade.

All I'm seeing is Tago has played against a bunch of shit teams that can't control the ball. Mahoney has been garbage so far.

If your happy with getting barrelled out week 2 of finals then good for you.
I think its a failure that is as far as we have gotten in years.
Just unlucky on the day. Do you want to have a bet on finals week two this year if you're so confident we can't win?
