Some interesting omissions:

The former Wigan boss has named a 30-man squad. Emerging talents Lewis Dodd and Kai Pearce-Paul have been included. 38-times capped Hull KR winger Ryan Hall has also been named.
2021 Man of Steel winner Sam Tomkins has been included alongside Catalans team-mate Tom Davies.
Seven uncapped players have been named.
Details of June’s mid-season international against the All Stars will be announced on Friday 4 March. England play Fiji in a World Cup warm-up match at Rochdale on Friday 7 October.

John Bateman, Liam Farrell, Zak Hardaker, Liam Marshall, Kai Pearce-Paul (Wigan Warriors) Daryl Clark, George Williams, Mike Cooper, Stefan Ratchford (Warrington Wolves), Tom Davies, Sam Tomkins (Catalans Dragons), Lewis Dodd, Morgan Knowles, Matthew Lees, Jonny Lomax, Alex Walmsley, Tommy Makinson, Jack Welsby, Mark Percival (St Helens), Niall Evalds, Paul McShane (Castleford Tigers), Ryan Hall (Hull KR), Kruise Leeming, Harry Newman, Mikolaj Oledzki (Leeds Rhinos), Reece Lyne (Wakefield Trinity), Jermaine McGillvary, Jake Wardle (Huddersfield Giants), Dan Sarginson (Salford Red Devils).

I’d say all but Farnworth would be certainties.

Why would you name a train on squad when there's almost a full season between now and the event?

Reportedly Wane doesn't like Jake Connor's attitude, which is understandable as he's got to be one of the most disliked players in the league. Hardaker may soon find himself out of the Wigan lineup, so not sure how he gets into the England squad. Glad to see KPP included though, he's had a very strong start to the season.

Dan Sarginson's fractured his shoulder since the squad announcement, so wouldn't be shocked to see a replacement named at some point. Will Pryce & Mikey Lewis will likely be knocking on the door of the squad as well.

Jackson Hastings would be a chance as he played 4 tests for Great Britain in 2019 so would be eligible for selection

Shaun Wane wants guys who are passionate about playing for their country and won't just select someone because their Grandad's dog had a holiday here once.

Big call at his age and level, he would be odds on to play Origin in the next few years if had stayed with NSW/Aus.

Funny timing right after the Origin series in which he made the squad a couple of times, if he made the final 19 he would have been locked in under my understanding of the rules.
I guess the opportunity to play in a RLWC was a big draw card right now. Maybe he is banking on them changing origin rules ta some point.

Its a big call but from hearing his interview, good on him. He seems to made his mind and feels other blokes are ahead of him at Origin.
