I'm not overly familiar with the ESL, but looks like a decent forward pack but will get out muscled by the top teams. They'll have a tough time in thier opening game against Samoa.

I read Leon Pryce has a son that is going to be a star ? Will he get a run ?
Surely Dominic Young from the Knights gets a start over Ryan Hall who couldn't even get a run in 1st grade for the Roosters.
No Widdop ? Is he still around and playing at a high level ?
Depends on game plan, pack looks quite a mobile one so if they come up with a game plan that utilizes that and gasses the big PI packs then it could work in our favour. We need to go back to playing English second phase RL, not trying to emulate the safety first six drive NRL style. Bennet brought that in and we ended up dull as dishwater to watch and still didn't win.

It is a rule that hasn't been an issue in the past but Tonga should be tier 1 soon enough. Then it will push the change
Tonga will never be a tier 1 nation. Because the tier system isn't based on the teams on-field performance. It is based on a country's ability to host a professional domestic competition and produce professional players from it. NZ barely scrapes through as a tier 1 nation but they obviously have the Warriors and contribute significantly to the NRL player pool and TV revenue so they are included.

Then wouldn't France be tier 1 using that logic

5. Ryan Hall (Robins)
6. Jonny Lomax (St's)
7. George Williams (Wolves)
8. Luke Thompson (Bulldogs)
9. James Roby (St's)
10. Tom Burgess (Souths)
11. Elliott Whitehead (Raiders)

It feels like Roby has been around for centuries. Good player, though

No because they don't have a professional domestic competition. Like I said, NZ technically don't qualify but are included as they contribute significantly to the NRL player pool and TV revenue.

Yes, however French TV money contributes little to zero money to the Superleague which is the heart of the issue and why NZ are tier 1 and France, Tonga and Samoa aren't.

I agree that the tier system should be scrapped though.
