He's played about 20 games this year I think. Maybe in terms of halves he's last resort but overall he's a fringe first grader. And that's at one of the best teams in history.

Well sure, but that's the point. Penrith's first choice backup half was required to play 11 games and they still won 8 of them. He had previously won 8 games from 21 before this year, proving it's a team game. Their last resort halfback was required to play three games and they won two of them. Thank f**k our last resort didn't have to play this year and hopefully he (whoever he is) doesn't have to play next year either.

The Roosters have a starter eligible for Flegg. If they're good enough they're old enough. Personally I think Jake Arthur is good enough to be a backup. His age is irrelevant. Yes he will improve with age but that just means he might end up better than backup quality. O'Sullivan finally has. Unless he turns to shit behind the Dolphins pack.
