the wa govt isn’t going to spend over one hundred million without guarantees as to how many games Perth gets
Correct, which leads to the bears going against their non negotiables and hopefully not already have damaged their rep beyond repair in Perth or any other market

Or no Bears

vlandys has already said Sydney has enough teams there is no support for a full time move back to ns or central coast
Vlandys says a lot of shit, he also said he wouldn't waste time on AFL states

They owned the knights and titans for ages till they found new owners

the club continued in the same location

guess you really don’t watch much nrl to forget what happened with the knights and titans

and there were calls to move the titans to Brisbane as well which the arlc ignored

you can make up any fantasy you want but it’s not reality
Ironically the Bears wanted to buy the Titans license and the NRL told them no, I wonder why??

Yes there is the arlc and the wa govt will put conditions on how many games they can move

and the bears aren’t getting a controlling stake
Like I said the WA govt invested heavily in the Force and Union when they came in, when they got cut the WA govt screamed about recouping their investment, it came to nothing as didnt have a legal leg to stand on.

Because it would be a very boring forum if everyone just said nothing until something happens
Most threads should go two pages tops

End of the day if they actually are serious about being based in Perth, and honouring and growing that region, they need fans from Perth to get on side with them, and with the language they've been publically using how can you expect anyone from Perth to want to do this

You say Perth Reds opinions don't matter but as a Perth resident they actually do, as they likely reflect the sentiment of RL supporters from Perth, whereas you and others are looking at it from the perspective of a Sydneysider
This. The overwhelming opinion on social media from WA RL fans is we dont want the Bears. They aren't doing themselves any favours with their rhetoric. They come across as a Sydney club 'willing' to play games in Perth (or elsewhere) whilst remaining a Sydney club. WA is incredibly parochial and they will be laughed out of town.
Two of the former WA possible bid teams said they wouldn't partner with them. No news yet from the current favoured bid team.

The club wasn’t moved back to Sydney was it

you’ve got the knights and titans as examples of what happens if the club fails

eh? Thats got nothing to sdo with the point in question, which was the notion the WA Govt would somehow be able to stop a Perth club leaving the comp if they provide support. They couldnt with the Force.

It’s about the argument that the bears can just move games to north Sydney when they feel like it

they can’t

it wouldnt be when they feel like it, it would be a long and painful orchestrated white anting of perth supported by a sydney nostalgic media, leading to a call for more games at NSO as they make more commercial sense, followed by an eventual call to move to CC with 5 games or so at NSO as the only way the club can survive.
The ONLY way you can 100% guarantee that not happening is for a WA consortium to own a controlling share of the club and hold the license.
But then we run the risk of a dragons/tigers shared ownership mess with each party at odds on the goals for the club.
WA govt can not secure the license for perth, as proved by the Force debacle.

See if Perth is going to be a successful nrl side there inset much the bears can do to sabotage it
Wow such naivety
Here's what they could do (and what I would do if Im honest if I was them)
stick to their 'we are NS Bears' model, turn off the perth fans, turn off the perth corporates, get Sydney media to spread some rumours about Bears not working and needing to move, fill NSO once or twice a year, get 'investors' waiting to invest from NSW and whamo,
'Perth doesn't work but we have a viable model over here.'
It wouldn't be hard given the way rugba league thinks.

You have to remember that first and foremost their #1 priority is to get NS Bears back in the NRL. Not make Perth or Adelaide or PNG a huge success.
