Sure they also had Nelson out. But Pezet is highly regarded. But Manly did have a lot of players missing. But some replacements where almost as good like Saab

This is why it's pointless to talk about who is missing. All that matters is the players who made it onto the field. Teams with better depth cope better with unavailable players. Pezet might be highly regarded but not for his NRL experience, which is what you need under pressure.

Imagine having him as a Junior and not keeping him

He was with the brave Roosters for 3 years after us. He then went to NZ and could not crack their side in 2019 or 2020.

So a lot of water has flown under the bridge since he was with us in 2015/16.

We didn't have time to wait for them. 2018 forced our hand and we had to sign Lane and Paulo in a hurry, followed by RCG and Matterson the next year. By the time these other merkins were good enough we already had a forward pack on the books.
