If they offered him half his current pay, that is $650k. I doubt Brooks gets more than that on the open market...

Surely there isn't a club out there dumb enough to pay more for a 10 year half who has never been in a better than average team????
Considering the halves are one of the most influential positions on wins.....

I can't think of another half who was paid so well for 10 years and never played a semi? Sandow? But he wasn't as well paid (averaged 400k per year for the Eels) AND only managed 8 years of futility.

Even Corey Norman played in the semis (and despite being paid well by the Dragons, didn't earn anywhere near as much as Brooks currently is!!!)

Well he has failed to accept their current offer and has gone on the open market.
My comment was more about the play by the Tigers to get him off their books without upsetting the fanbase.
Lowball him, let him knock it back, and then they can claim that they tries to keep him but salary cap pressure, etc.
Whether he gets anything similar somewhere else, only time will tell.

Knowing we were scheduled for Kings Bday Monday how hard would it have been to schedule us for Sunday...amateur hour again by Abdo and co. In the long term it's much better for as many of our guys as possible to play at the highest level. They will come back better players. For years we have had no origin players and have really suffered for it.

I figure with the way this seasons gone so far, it’ll be a matter of just finding ways to win despite not being full strength. We didn’t in first 3 weeks which has put us in this position so we’ll need to for the rest of year if we want to do anything.

So unfortunate weve lost Dylbags and Emu. With that pair available we would probably continue on without much issue. Definitely been one of those years.
The good thing is though with Mitch in the NSW Team I finally get to cheer for my home state. Lets go boys.

I was really looking forward to RCG, Paulo and Greig all working together in the engine room.
