Well he has failed to accept their current offer and has gone on the open market.If they offered him half his current pay, that is $650k. I doubt Brooks gets more than that on the open market...
Surely there isn't a club out there dumb enough to pay more for a 10 year half who has never been in a better than average team????
Considering the halves are one of the most influential positions on wins.....
I can't think of another half who was paid so well for 10 years and never played a semi? Sandow? But he wasn't as well paid (averaged 400k per year for the Eels) AND only managed 8 years of futility.
Even Corey Norman played in the semis (and despite being paid well by the Dragons, didn't earn anywhere near as much as Brooks currently is!!!)
My comment was more about the play by the Tigers to get him off their books without upsetting the fanbase.
Lowball him, let him knock it back, and then they can claim that they tries to keep him but salary cap pressure, etc.
Whether he gets anything similar somewhere else, only time will tell.
