İs anyone else atleast a little concerned that only ten thousand tickets have been sold to be actually in the states?

Whilst the travelling crowd is great, it seems little more than a junket without actually engaging the local population.

I have always wondered whether they should actually do two rounds in the states.

One in Las Vegas as a double header and one in Los Angeles 6 days apart.

NRL home crowds don't get 10k , travelling fans included and that was quoted some time ago, so likely be far bigger than that..
Looking like a big uptick from the first year and looking nicely for a 5 year plan.
Regardless, travelling fans bolster the local economy making it a sort after event..at the conclusion of the 5 year program, local governments will be pushing for a continuation...$

Being on FoxSports FTA won`t hurt either. As we sit here the NRL are doing a stack of targeted marketing in the U.S. involving all sorts of personalities and other sports, hopefully this combined with the FTA coverage will lead to increased local interest in future years.

I wouldn`t be surprised given the enthusiasm with which this is being embraced by the Poms if we don`t see them angling to make them a bigger part of it. That could be 15k extra fans right there.

Remember, the NRL are attempting to do in Las Vegas in 5 years what it has taken 20 years in Melbourne.

Big ask, yes, doable, we`ll see. But they are giving it a red hot go, getting loads of publicity and interest from the general public and should be commended.

Which pot plant at 9 though it was good idea to have The Chin sing Viva Las Vegas to promote their coverage? Just awful and totally cringeworthy and annoying, especially when I’m watching Tipping Point.

I feel they have pivoted away from the "promotion of the game" to US fans this year, and concentrated on the attention it gets domestically as a season opener.

And as of Year 2, that seems to be working well.

Let's wait and see what the final sales number are before making a call. For last year's match, 23,000 tickets were sold to residents in the US (of the almost 45,000 tickets sold/allocated) in the final wrap up.

20 days out, that number was between 5-7K, with the vast majority of sales in the last 14 days going to US residents.

If we can repeat similar sales, we are on track to beat that 23K figure.

45,000 sold doesn't accord with building number which was 31k. Was 23k all sold or includes lots a giveaways?!

It's been confirmed multiple times now that the 31,927 crowd published by Allegiant Stadium did not include corporates & VIPs. This is not just an NRL thing, with over 80% of the events held at the venue also having a difference of between 20-30% for the Allegiant reported numbers & announced crowds.

Was the crowd truly 40,746? possibly not, but it was most likely higher than the 32K Allegiant figure as well based upon other events, how much of the stadium was open, etc.

As for the difference with the 45K announced 24hrs before kick off by the Telegraph, I imagine a combination of the 100kmph winds + the multi ticket promos run played a part in that.

Lots of things warp numbers. Tickets distributed vs sold. Everybody including staff are often counted. Any event has lower attendance than sold also as some people don't attend. I doubt 23k tickets sold in USA & also 41k number.

On a more serious note, this will dampen the previous years hype, which was largely fueled by media types getting a junket.

Remember 9 saying "there will be a 10 team pro- comp with 2.5M cap by 2025"? And talking about how the combine was going to be huge. (Actually Gould talked extensively last night about how he was going to that)
