Id say considering the injury it will take smith another 4 months before he is back, then at least 1 to 2 months before he is fit, we dont have the cash for this year nor the top 30 spot, the deal if it happens wont be for this yearJust my opinion, but if I was given a choice of just one of those guys, I'm going Brandon Smith.
A test level player, filling a need in a big hole we have in the roster, proven bull.
Of course, the biggest question marks will be how he pulls up after his type of injury, and then, to a lesser extent, motivation, but I'm less worried about that with Wayne at the helm
i disagree there is no loyalty in rugby league its a business and must be treated like one.AJ is like Max. That wing spot is his as long as he wants it for. He has more than earned that loyalty from us.
That may be true for all the other soulless clubs, but we at Souths are more honourable and don't just go along with the herd.i disagree there is no loyalty in rugby league its a business and must be treated like one.
.
Well, Adam Reynolds and Damien Cook might disagree there but we're not as bad as some, put it that way. That may be true for all the other soulless clubs, but we at Souths are more honourable and don't just go along with the herd.
Good post. I completely agree. AJ's positional sense and handling ability on the left has become telepathic with his inside men, particularly Cody and Latrell. A new winger would take quite some time to be in exactly the right spot and be able to rope in those quick passes and get the ball over the line the way AJ does. Many of his tries are tries others would not have scored. They're not all as easy as catch and canter over. How many times do we see wingers either over run the pass or just not be in the exact spot when it is fired to them and it goes into touch?I’m not sure you guys actually see what Johnston does. But fire away. When he’s gone, you’ll be grasping your hands like when Adam left.
I reckon he still has two seasons in him - 25 & 26. Will not be 32. The modern fit wingers last longer.,
I totally agree but I'm hoping we have learned our lesson with the fiasco of letting Reyno go.Well, Adam Reynolds and Damien Cook might disagree there but we're not as bad as some, put it that way.
I still say Reynolds had the opportunity to stay, he chose not to. For all his words, he chose the donkeys over us. Even a 2 year deal should have been sufficient with extensionsI totally agree but I'm hoping we have learned our lesson with the fiasco of letting Reyno go.

he should have had the clubs best interest at heart given Sam’s and GIs forced retirements and what impact it had on our cap at the time
it’s all on him and as I said, he chose to leave
cookie on the other had, I don’t think Wayne wanted him anymore
Johnny Sutton showed loyalty he signed 1 year contracts and let his footy do the talking to keep his family fedWith regards to Reyno, all he wanted was the security of 1 more year on his extension. As a guy with a young family it really is understandable. Considering all he had done for the club it really wasn't too much to ask. I think we Fed up big time on that one.
I’m not condemning reyno he did what every other footy player does moves on for more coin he has moved on the club has survived even though it hasn’t been as successful as we wished he’s part of our past history let’s support the current playing group and I know you do to create more good memoriesYes Sutto did that. I still won't condemn Reyno for doing what he felt he had to do. Like I said he more than earned the right to ask the club to look after him.
Absolutely mate. You know I'm 100% behind anyone who wears our famous jersey.I’m not condemning reyno he did what every other footy player does moves on for more coin he has moved on the club has survived even though it hasn’t been as successful as we wished he’s part of our past history let’s support the current playing group and I know you do to create more good memories
well Bennet didnt want Johnston until the fans stepped in with the petition so i think the writing might be on the wallI totally agree but I'm hoping we have learned our lesson with the fiasco of letting Reyno go.
