I get what you’re saying and agree I don’t think Ryles rates him as much as the last coach did.

It’s also evident with Matterson and Cartwright. Gutherson and RCG too. The BA click is being boned.
I do think sacking BA was the first step in moving on a bunch of his favourites. I wonder how much harder it would've been if he was still the coach.

I would laugh, but given your penchant for mediocrity, I think you are deadly serious....and worse, I don't think it would shock if our club "took a punt" on dross like this as a "stop gap measure" until the young talent is ready!
I was joking but a player like this as an interim measure for 2026 would be an understandable choice. We might even use Hawkins/Volkman for this next year.

Yeah I think we will have to use either Hawkins or Volkman in 2026.

I would assume that Moses is on the buzzer with his cousin to get Galvin across in 2027 he knows he has only a few more years left to win a competition.

I do wonder if we are seriously considering Galvin. We didn't really improve our offer to Drown, we probably could have given him a longer deal (not saying we should had). Then Moses re-signs with minimal media speculation. Which is unusual for him.

Then reports Galvin will go to market, along with having the same manager as Moses....

Almost like it's all been planned....
And the fact our club started this entire process to remove POs and get it done before the season commenced. At the very least I suspect Ryles wasn't concerned if he moved on. Word has it Penisini has also committed then theres the Matto and Lane situation where both have taken up their options. In essence no POs remain that havent been dealt with
For better or worse, Ryles is a mover and a shaker that's for sure

I reckon the main reason why Brown is not here next year is Ryles, sounds like we didn’t even put up a fight. After the dross he has dished up since signing his massive extension who can blame him??
Or, there is not a club in the NRL who could compete with that offer. So you shake hands and wish him all the best.

But we didn’t even put up a fight, I just don’t think Ryles is a fan.

Honestly he was going to be paid 1.1m going forward. That’s crazy money for a non organising half. Imagine someone paying him even more on a 10 year deal?? That would get absolutely nuts.

Plenty of non-organising halves would be on more than $1.1M. Haas, Munster and a bunch of fullbacks would be on at least that much. It’s about their contribution, not whether they can ‘organise’.

Like I said somewhere we waived the cooling off period.. We didn't want him to change his mind ..

Other than the current media shitstorm, POs are neither inherently good nor bad. They are just something clubs can offer players that reduces their cost under the cap, if the player agrees. Given there are so few POs in the game, I'm certain most players don't want them.

Or you're overstating their impact in keeping salaries down.

I kinda view them as something like a car salesman would offer free car mats with a new car purchase.
