This song was anthem to all unemployed people under the thatcher government. Two awesome talents combining
Am I alone in thinking Kate Pierson looks a bit like Doris Day?
Many moons ago, on this side of the world, I floated the possibility of a likeness. One bloke said he could see it, another bloke said he couldn't. Exactly the same on here. Can't say i see the comparison.
Some idiot in the game day thread tonight was whinging about Neil Diamond saying he doesn't have a single decent song. Just to show how spectacularly wrong he is we have
I have been going to the Allianz stadium pool a lot over the last few months and the music they play around the pool area is usually quite good and laid back and quite often they play Forever In Blue Jeans which is another great Diamond song, i was going to post that.I was going to point out to him that he must be too young to remember just how huge Hot August Night was. There was a bunch of songs I could have posted to prove my point. I chose the one from The Last Waltz because it was one of the highlights of that concert. Considering the unbelievable lineup of talent that night, to stand out as one of the best performances takes an incredible talent. Another favourite is this (used to perfection in this awesome movie)
I remember buying it at a record shop in Eastlakes, would have been about 9 at the time and bought it with my own pocket money.I didn't need to buy it as I just listened to my mothers LP of it.

Guess it would have been around $7.99 back then.I remember buying it at a record shop in Eastlakes, would have been about 9 at the time and bought it with my own pocket money.
It was my Dad that was the Country music guy. He had plenty of Glen Campbell in his collection. My mothers albums around that time were mainly Glen Campbell, not that i minded listening to them at the time either.
Think it was $10 seeing it was a double album.Guess it would have been around $7.99 back then.
