I honestly don't get why the Raiders couldn't match whatever the Sea Eagles are going to pay Fogarty. Fogarty is one of the most underrated players in the comp. Good organiser, great long kicking game, defends very well, mature, kicks goals at an elite level. He's not flashy but he's so rock solid. With a view to what, Ethan Strange playing 7? Or does Sticky have an Englishman in his binoculars?

The Raiders only offered Fogarty a 1 year deal, the Sea Eagles offered a 2 year deal. I don't think the money was the exact issue.

Ok, so the Raiders didn't back that Fogarty has two years in him. Maybe they know something Manly doesn't but from the outside, he looks a good asset and a smart pickup to Manly

Katoa and dce would be an awesome halves combo

Nikorima and Sullivan would obviously be surplus and handy pickups for other nrl clubs (too good for super league)

Still being told DCE has already agreed with Dessie's crew. Was done at DCE wedding.

Makes sense tbh.

Maybe the most important day of you and your new brides lives so far, and you spend half of it locked in a room with your ex coach talking footy and thrashing out contracts.

In short for Fogarty to get his second year, if he takes up the Raiders offer, he has to meet certain on field requiremenst to trigger it.
I feel like the Raiders don't really want Fogarty - this updated offer seems more about fan backlash and public perception than about retaining a player Sticky sees as key to his plans.

Seems to me that Raiders have a backlog of good young halves beneath him and Sticky is wary of cockblocking them

I think there may be complications with promises(contractual or not) made to Ethan Sanders to have him sign on. I hope they've planned everything out with both players and there's nothing silly played out in two years time. Fog has served the club well and seems a real good bloke and we don't want to fumble Sanders.
