Beau Fermor will be picked - so we should be ok with Garns not getting picked :)

maybe Qld will feel loyal and get Fifita in there as well

just adds strength to the argument that Martin has been underperforming

i think Yeo would be picked (just) but thats because there's not many 13s for NSW performing outstanding as well as no Murray
The journos seem to think that Barnett and Connor Watson are in the mix for the 13 because of form, with Yeo on the bench.

I think he’ll pick Yeo at 13 and Captain, but it’s the reality of current form.

Geyer, like father like son. He really needs to leave if he's serious about trying to establish himself as a first grader.

Martin isnt a kikau or a hamole type of 2nd rower.

His game is built on the 1% plays that go unnoticed.

Very similar in a way to dylan edwards.. and its the same reason many including a lot on here didnt notice dylan for a long time..

People love to see the attacking side of the game.. when teddy makes a brilliant run to set up a try it makes the highlights. When kikau or hamole run over 3 blokes to score it makes the highlights.

Martins line speed, tenacity, being first on kick chases.. pressuring playmakers etc largely goes unnoticed to the average fan.

The same way dylan making a try saving tackle on one side of the field and then being there to clean up a kick on the other on the last... and the taking a hit up when hes gassed goes or at least used to goes unnoticed as well.

That stuff isnt sexy and isnt highlight reel territory. The average fan doesnt notice that stuff.

If you needed a 2nd rower to shut down munster i wouldn't pick any other 2nd rower in the comp.

I would like to see nath using him a bit better then just a battering ram tho. A bit of early ball to get him one on one would be nice.

I think the issue is we dont really have an impact forward.. maybe patea will be that guy. But most of our forwards are solid workhorses.

If we had a 30min impact forward who can offload and break tackles at will then it allows other guys like martin to continue to do what has won us 4 gfs in a row. Ill say that again.. the way martin and co play has won us 4 gfs in a row.. has to be doing something right.

I love soro and hes been a great servant for the club. He probably deserves one big last pay day and should maybe look to go to england and fill the pockets.

Garner has been great id like to keep him. Paps is looking better and better.

But i still think we need a real big forward who can play an edge for two 15min stints and carve up.

Edwards wasn't that guy for a while into his career. He was always super fit but this idea he was exactly the same is just silly sausage territory.

Edwards was immediately identified as having limited skills, it also took about 2 whole first grade games to realise we were a way better side with him at fullback. The numbers even made it plain, we kept winning while he was fullback and losing without him. Four premierships later and what are even these conversations.

The idea that we're the average fan who doesn't notice little things in the game is pretty silly anyway. Were literally burning our free time sending thoughts about the team into the aether. The average fan barely looks at the scores, let alone the stats, let alone the 1%ers.

Average fans don't post daily on rugby league forums. We are all footy nerds who care and understand more

if Daley picked the NSW squad on 2025 form only - does Liam get picked?
No. But a team comprising Will Kennedy, Tom Starling and Terrell May would get stomped by the QLDers.

And the worst thing of all, it would give those bloody Cane Toads the opportunity to say ‘NSW don’t get origin’ and be right.

Kennedy is a long way behind Teddy on form. Starling is well behind Api too. Both are bang average. May you could make an argument for either way.

I think over thinking can sometimes hamper rational thoughts.

We are way harsher judges of the players, that’s just human nature.
