Thrashed them in the 16 - 39 year olds:

FRIDAY NIGHT NRL LIVENine253,000114,00032,000
SEVEN’S AFL: FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTBALLSeven244,00081,00015,000

Pre and Post match was also in the Top10.

It all shows that although the fumbles reach is higher it must largely just be an older audience tuning in to bump the reach up.

I suppose this fits in with NRL`s significantly better engagement via social media. Good signs for the future.
Like in nz, in fumbler states the future will be getting the younger generation on league

People 30 and over are too set in their ways

But given leagues social media presence kills afl that’s how the game gets people in fumbler states watching

In terms of podcasts there would be 5 to 10 times more nrl ones v afl

Same as with super rugby in nz or Australia

Rugby league does social media very well

Mate that's a lie and you know it. You used to post on the old 442 forum with a different account name, before you started using Wookie over there.

For someone as terminally online as yourself I'd bet you've done it on other forums too.

My apoligies, thats true, I was temporarily something else over there. Long time ago now, completely forgot. Also different name on reddit.

Shorter games will reduce reach

Wonder if this increases ratings

I’m sure the Fumbletards will love to change the rules further for the benefit of the Sydney heathens …although they do give them extra draft picks and a higher salary cap to ensure they have an advantage to keep them competitive every year

They can have the extra 20k viewers in the stadium. We'll the the extra 1.3M viewers on TV
It is 18k more per game, so about 1.45m for the season which puts the AFL just in front if we are aggregating crowds and viewers. NRL will overtake them after the three SOO matches.

Plus Fox, plus NZ, plus Pacific Championships.... So AFL gets smashed, thanks
The post I was replying to was referring to the Australian figures. We were talking about Australia.

If we are including overseas matches and viewers, then cricket is by far the biggest sport in Australia because 100 millions Indians are watching our summer tests.
