Surely Galvin's parents have been told there are guaranteed bigger and better things for Galvin.

For sure but that doesn't mean jack shit to us. I find his actions bizarre actually but I don't care because I think he has been ordinary all season.

Eventually there will be a point where it becomes unsustainable and managers know this.
Right now, pending fitness, I'd have Latu Fainu or Heath Mason at ½ and Jarome Luai at ⅝. I say this because that's their natural positions.
We have to start playing people in preferred positions and keep them there.
Every week when positions change your taking another step backwards imo.
Galvin needs to go because he's no longer part of our rebuild, regardless if he nails the Souths game.
This bench stinks of a los of control by Benji. I hope for his sake he knows what he's doing because I can't see it.

The only thing about Luai is, I recall when they were talking about him coming here, that he wanted to be the 7, I don't know if that was true or guaranteed, but if it is, they certainly won't change him, unless he requests it, remembering that he has "out" option coming up this November.
Re: Galvin, IF he is going, then they should probably get rid of him this year, we need to develop Latu's relationship with Luai, but as I commented above, will Luai want to play 6, which is obviously his best position.
If Gal stays, then we risk losing Latu and possibly his brothers. Personally, I'm over the Galvin drama, but I hate that his manager will look like he has won.

TBF, imo, barring the lack of a back up 9, but it's probably the best team we can put on the paddock, but it does highlight our lack of depth with one forward being out and will be out for some time.
Will be interesting to see how long Hunt plays, we've never asked that question of him.

It's all about him running the show and getting the big dollars. He can do that a 6 and be happy.
Fainu isn't a 6 imo. Latu is better playing closer to the ruck as he has brilliant pass left and right. He can grubber and dart through defenders. I rate him as a half from what I've seen.

Yes, that was my point, if Luai wants to plat 7, what happens then?

I think Jarome goes along with it.
I think Jarome would agree that his reputation would be more effected playing in a losing side that has him at ½ rather to winning and playing well at ⅝.
I agree that we cater for his wishes but team first, as he has stated.

The sister in law was saying Gavin's parents were telling everyone in ear shot that they were fully committed to the WT early in the year while watching a junior WT team with LG younger brother in it. Obviously things changed and now they want out.Probably the IM factor played a part also once he got in their ear.
IMO I think we dodged a bullet with the amount of money he was offered, I don't see a Brett Kenny or Cam Munster 5/8 that can dominate a game in him. When he leaves the WT he will be easily forgotten.

I don't really care if Fainu has a 6 on his back, but time for him to be in the halves and put Luai on the side he is more comfortable on. They can figure rout who does what. The numbers do not matter. The roles do.
On the left. The same side as Galvin. That's the real reason there is tension. The roles are different.
A half is more about service, red zone set up, forced drop outs and occasionally being dummy half.
A ⅝ is more about linking and running wider and setting up players like Samuela Fainu on a far edge cutting back or even outside.
Jarome excelled at Penrith outside of the chin, one of the best half backs of the NRL era.

I said at half time that our middles of May and Hunt and co need to own the middle. In the second half we did that and should have won.
May was super and Hunt showed glimpses of what he can do, still we need a lot lot more from him.

Players on big money and big reputations ice moments like LG losing the ball over the line. I'm totally over his lateral shifts because that's too obvious.
Anyway I won tonight with the news that I'm having another grandchild, 7 now. woohoo.
