What a shrewd recruit he's proving to be. Seemed purely a depth signing at the time who'd likely play mostly NSW Cup but he's been a valuable first grader. He's all about effort and hard work but there's a bit more than meets the eye as well, he's got some footwork and seems a gangly strong frame who's tricky to bring down. I doubt it's a coincidence that in the 3 tries we scored while he was on the field, all of them came from an Eisenhuth play the ball.

Anyway. I like him a lot! I compared him to Jon Green in the pre-season and as much as I loved Jonny Green (2010 legend) I think that's still selling Eisenhuth short.

I dont really have an opinion on Eisenhuth yet.. I wouldnt have him as a 2nd rower over Sua, Leilua or even RFM.. but he does cover us really well for injury.

As a lock.. maybe.. I havent really established an opinion yet.. I know that 13 shouldnt be JDB.. Sele maybe if he can stay fit.. the good thing about Eisenhuth for me is he frees up JDB & Sele to be in our prop rotation, where we desperately need that quality.

That said, none of our 11-13 kids are going to be knocking the doors down for 2025, so I wouldnt mind extending him for another 12mths.. I think hes too good to let go and he is versatile... the challenge is we need spots in our 30 free'd up, so decisions will have to be made..

Note that in 2025 we have 2nd rowers RyanC, Halangahu & Egan in our 30 and NickT in our Devs next year... but I assume we will get rid of Russell and Shereb... but I do feel we are very 2nd rower heavy at the expense of other positions in terms of squad development and depth.

Great tackling technique & ability to win the ruck. Also he excels in the effort areas like kick pressure, something that's been lacking in our team for a long time. An excellent recruit, especially fending off Penrith for him. Proved me wrong.

When you’re a shit club, and you recruit fringe first graders from top clubs, they’re more than likely going to be better than the players on your current team

Take note Dragon’s recruitment team…sign
players from top teams, not from shit teams like ours!…it’s not rocket surgery!

I like Eisenhuth. Great defender and can make some really strong carries. He clearly wasn't bought to be a star; rather, he was a signing that could be compared to the reason Hook bought Mbye, which was having a aplayer there to motivate, instil discipline and set a standard (although it was a terrible idea and had the opposite effect of what was intended). The reason it's working now is because Eisenhuth has come from a winning club and knows the importance of one-percenters when it comes to winning a game, especially when most of our team barely knows the winning feeling.

Good luck to him but jeezus any more injuries/suspensions to forwards and we're deep in the pooh.
Egan, R.Couchman and Eidenhuth gone, MMolo, Sele and Fifita useless, Guler and Lawrie barely servicable, leaving us just JDB, Klemmmer, Stewart and LPT (with just 51 minutes in 1st grade so far) for 15 rounds and a couple of under-performing 2nd rowers apart from maybe Su'a (even his output seems to be waning). And who have we signed for 2026 ?

Our KOE team is coming second and normally I would take that as a sign of depth of quality in the club. However, closer inspection of stats such as for and against reveals we have marginally the worst against of the top 4 KOE teams but clearly the second best for. My (admittedly) very broad take on those stats is that we have some great attacking backs but our KOE forwards are lacking- particularly in defence. Egan, Couchman and Eisenhuth were mainly known for work rate and defence which is where we are now really struggling for depth.

The Latu swap move to the Bulldogs before June 30 has gone quiet but if is still under discussion I'd be going after one of those Bulldogs bench backrowers where they seem to be strong. Harry Hayes at 22 yo is probably the best of them so maybe he wouldn't be released but Latu is a one in a generation talent so we need to be assertive.

We are definitely right on the edge of disaster with our front row stocks.. and that 30th spot was being saved for a middle.. but its been months and no news at all... can we land someone half decent in the next 5 weeks.. dunno.

if not then hopefully Jett finds his way into a Top30 or Nick potentially.. its a little early but not sure what the other options are.. MMolo is still there mind you, but the day we are needing to play MMolo, Lawrie and a Tonga for all of 20mins or so.. even Guler is struggling, its not much of a middle rotation.. were really leaning very heavily on Jack, Klem, Toby currently... Stewart an admirable role also with his tackling.

Latu one in a generation talent. Blame coach Flanno for fumbling that one and before anyone gets their knickers in a twist because the truth hurts he should have got a start ahead of Stewart but Flanno bowed down to Stewart's old man who works with the club. Latu, Egan and Stewart should be in our best 17 but unfortunately we are down to just the 1 with Egan's injury. Flanno has cost us 2 of our very best juniors in Lomax and Latu who is next? Not acceptable

I would argue that in the absence of decent middles in the market, we manufacture one- Leilua, who is pretty ineffectual out on the left edge and seems to have lost pace and fitness and gained size, is the one we convert to a bench middle playing limited minutes at both ends of the halves. Meanwhile, our backrow stocks are thin on quality as well with Egan going down but they are easier to recruit generally- or at least that is the experience of Canberra and Newcastle with their poms.
