Dude, Jake sucks. He offers nothing in attack, he can kick deep but it’s always straight to one of the back three, and he never threatens the line. By all accounts he’s a lovely young man, and that’s great - but he is not, and will never be, a first grader’s arsehole. If you want to compare backup halves, Hawkins gave him an absolute bath tonight, and Jake came in with the easier job.

I don’t remember saying he was a first grader.
In fact I said the opposite.

He did the job he was expected to do tonight. The experienced first graders in the Manly side around him failed in theirs.

That was an absolutely awesome performance.

Given the circumstances that might just be our best performance in three seasons.

That group of players probably didn't have the right to play that good against that opposition. To be honest we made Manly look absolute garbage.

Everyone was outstanding.

You can definitely see improvement every time we take field this season. Our defence is now so much better than it has been for years.

Ryles, eh? He must be doing something right. But I'm not getting carried away on one performance. This team will continue to grow, the combination of youth and experience along with self belief is helping us go places. But, let's all not knife them on here the next time they play like shit.

Too right.
There is still a shitload of inexperience in this side, and with that comes inconsistent performances.

We’ve won two in a row now, one against awful opposition and one against decent opposition. We are about to come up against some very good opposition, so we can really only hope to put in some good performances and try to give ourselves the best chance of coming out of those games with our heads held high (and maybe even a win maybe).

Yea the completion rate was very good considering we moved the ball around quite a bit.

Lost the penalty count and set restart count as well, so we overcame that well.

He’s great on the edge. Very impressive.
I remember one point of the game Tuilagi did his usual overrun the play in defence opening up a hole in his inside, but Jack came through quick to shut down the play tackling Turbo who was put into the hole.

That’s what I love to see.

If we had Moses from the start of the year, and didn't have the brown fiasco disruption, and a shit draw playing Sundays in extreme heat 4 weeks in a row, I reckon we'd be in the 8.

Smith 56 tackles, 3 misses and Hopgood 42 tackles no misses, great defensively effort

Kautoga is getting better, continued on his improved attack from last week

Samrani, 160 m, 8 tackle breaks, impressive.

Russell, again struggles to get the ball to JAC. But apart from that, had a decent game. Thought this defence was great! And works hard in attack. Going good!

Paulo/Williams great. Walker very good again!

Papalii, good debut. Has that x-factor look about him.

Drown underwhelming!
