I’m not sure what the past has to do with anything. The goal is to continually improve. The Warriors had him on their books at one stage. Now the Bulldogs have him when they were in the absolute doldrums for ages. Are we any less resourced than them?

Gould is a wealthy old man. I don't think he does what he does for the money, not since he left the Roosters. He wasn't at the Warriors long enough to make a difference, which leaves the Panthers and Dogs, two clubs he has a personal connection with. In this sense, Gould's loyalty is a resource for those clubs, and not for us.

I am thinking the Parra fans were the ones who were "played" more so than the Parra club.
The club didn't actually lose anything - we had to have a crack at getting Galvin and just lost out. The fans were given the impression (played) by the media that we were in the lead, the team to beat, but that came from the media who use Parra fans to sell advertisement.
