Makes sense. He’s the general kicker so should be halfback
Yep, Kyle should have been the 7 from the start of this year. He was half back at the Sharks, Roosters and Bulldogs before joining us. We could have not signed Ilias and waited for Atkinson to turn up next year. LKT was used late last year and he in my opinion should have continued as the 5/8th from the start of the year as well.

I hope that this combination goes better than what we have seen and it might produce much better results for us.

I admit I've only seen the KOE Dragons when they've been on Fox earlier in the season but I read the match reviews and one forward who doesn't seem to get rewarded for his efforts is Jett Liu- a big strong prop-early 20s-just the size and age we need. Can't understand what's going on there. Last weekend he was described by a NSWRL match reviewer as being "exceptional" or a word to that effect. Certainly, made me sit up- none of our NRL middles have played the opposition off the park.

There are a few doing well in KOE. playing With effort and go forward, winning builds effort. im ok with rotations to minimise fatigue and get rid of niggles on the young guys.

I dont think Ramsey has a contract that would allow first grade.. also not sure how well he is handling the week to week of nsw cup.. or holding the weight on..... when its still not even half way thru the season... but definitely tempting I hear ya.. also not 100% sure how his thin frame would go against first grade collisions on the regular though.. we would also need to open up a Top 30 slot which is very hard to come by.

Really its him or Sloan @fullback though, or I suppose Val, but Val is too valuable @ctr currently, esp with Allan now out till R17.. our 1 backup who was looking alright.. our other centres are teenagers still and far from ready.

Kyle at 7!

Thoughts???
I think SF kept KF at 5/8 because the left side was our gun attacking combination. And the understandings were built all through pre-season. So I can understand SF's reluctance to change that. We usually out-score the opposition for tries....and missed conversion kicks losing us games. I think we can all agree on that.

Realistically, LKT is not in the top 10 NRL halves. Could be solid, but as much as people try to talk him up, - I'm not seeing any X-factor about him, yet. (But obviously I'm a poor judge. I can live with that.)

At the end of the day, we need to focus on dominating in the forwards so our backs can run on. Not throwing hurried, flat passes to each other, -which is what happens when forwards don't out-muscle their opposition.

Shuffling the deckchairs? I'm okay with that.

In my opinion redandwhite4evr, Jett Liu and Loko Jnr Pasifiki Tonga are big boys who can develop into much stronger and more forceful middles as they get older. I am positive that both will be playing first grade together next year. We should have a great nucleus of young forwards vying for first grade next year so the competition between the players will help us be a team hard to beat.

K Flannagan should be at 14
Liddle to 9
How about trying Reed at 7
Keep LKT at 6
Cook to reserve grade. Let him mentor some bright young player for the rest of his stay at the Dragons.

Given the players currently available my 17 would be:

1. Gutherson
2. CT
3. Suli
4. Holmes
5. Lawson
6. LKT
7. Reed

8. De Belin
9. Liddle
10. Klemmer
11. Leilua
12. Su'A
13. Stewart

14. Flannagan
15. Tonga
16. Couchman
17. Cook

Ramsey has the biggest heart of any player I have seen. Sloan has a heart the size of a pea.
Sloan talented , has had ample time to show he is ready , in a top 4 team where he doesn't have to do too much defending on the wing maybe ok long term ......... But as you say he possesses no aggression at all , thats why I can not see him being a long serving fullback ....... I hope Im wrong and does make it ........

Gould designed a struction and developed Penriths Junior League. We had our chance to offer Gould a similar position after the completion of his 'Mary' report.

Our Junior catchment area is a similar size to that of Penrith but the work being done is way short of its potential.
Gould sacked Ivan Cleary and brought in Griffin and extended Griffin. How good is he with the Dogs juniors? Averillo, Alamoti let go. Saints let go of Tamale and people are going off.

I heard a quote from a Warriors CEO and he said Ivan Cleary changed the club when he was there significantly. 1 major change Ivan implemented was the junior system. He sorted the mess out and they blossomed so much so that they made the GF whilst Cleary was there. So it appears he did to Penrith what he did to Warriors.

Gould brought in the Corporate sponsors and help build the facilities. I am pretty sure if Gould was at Penrith Cleary would be at the Tigers with his dad and we would be talking about the Tigers winning comps. Penrith got wind of this and sacked Gould and went with the Cleary's and we all know how that worked out. Cleary should take all the credit for Penrith performances not Gould.

Did anyone hear how Gould said Galvin is the best junior he has ever seen? Let's see if he can win 4 comps in a row like the Panthers juniors. Pretty distrustful to them really with that statement. Shows how good his judgement is. Lets wait and see how Galvin goes but I cannot see him achieving what the Penrith boys have.

Knights losing will help alot. The Knights coach praised them so he will be going into the game with some confidence that the game plan he had was good when Penrith were just terrible.

The only thing that can lose it for Saints is Saints themselves. If they play like they did against Broncos, Manly and the Storm then they should win by plenty. If they play like they did against Parra and Souths, they will once again disappoint us.

This is a huge game and if they can get this one with a big score they will be in the 8. They cannot afford to drop these points and rely on another upset win.
