It's baffling isn't it?
For a start Burton, Kikau, and Crichton would all be close with Api and Luai, and to a lesser extent, Turuva. The disrespect Galvin has shown to them would be hard to put aside and no doubt it would have been discussed amongst themselves (the ex-Penrith guys) weeks or even months ago when this first started happening.
Every player at Canterbury is playing at a high standard. But particularly their fringe first graders are playing well above their expected ceilings. This would show they are a very tight knit group. With the arrival of Galvin, blokes like Sexton and Mahoney will be moved on as soon as possible. Other like Preston and King who has just made SOO will find it impossible to (legally) get paid what they're now worth and will likely have to leave. None of this will enhance the comradarie in the club. If anything it will decrease it.
Then there's positional movements that will need to happen. The only way for Galvin to fit in seamlessly would be a straight swap for Sexton. Galvin won't be able to play 7. He just can't run a team in any way, shape, or form. If not, you then start playing musical chairs and run the risk of pissing off players established in those positions who are going great guns.
Add to that all the bullying bullshit that's supposedly happened. You're already playing for a club that has 1 bullying lawsuit in progress and here comes another player that's been crying bullying. How would you be, being around them? You'd be walking on eggshells wondering if you're next, or he's writing your name down in his little book for future reference.
Jabba and Ciraldo are obviously way smarter than all of us combined and their plans may very well work out. I just can't see it happening though. If it does fail I know who'll be getting thrown under the bus, and his initials are LG. If he gets everyone offside at Canterbury, he'll turn out to be the next Hastings.
I was, like a lot of other people I think, right behind the bulldogs and what they were doing. I'm now cheering, like a lot of other people I think, for them to implode. I'd rather see Melbourne win the comp now.
