It’s not the best 34 players in the game, it’s the best 34 that can play for Australia. The Kangaroos don’t hold a mortgage on the best 17 players anymore
This is why I've argued we need to expand the Origin concept to include NZ and PNG. Falls in line with the NRL thinking in terms of the entire Pacific region rather than just the traditional states, and most games would be a reasonable contest at least. The Kiwi and PNG fans would really bring something to the concept as well...

ALF singletballer with 22 posts here, wishing the fumbleballers had State of Origin.

Beat it, ya turd tickler.
Go get some help buddy.

People are allowed to criticise a game of footy. It’s still 100% better than what the AFL can produce but it was an average match. It wasn’t elite footy tonight.

Also how do you see someone with a shortened Newcastle as the username and think they are an AFL fan. Are you dumb?

They care more about their haircuts and socials. Don't put in the tough work. Think about their pay packet and not about the bloke next to them doing it tough.
Wait - which Suncorp home team are we talking about here?

Best devision NSW made was dropping Teddy. Edwards isn’t flash. But put Teddy in the same situations and Lomax has zero tries while Teddy pads his stats with dummy and runs bombing tries. Edwards just does his job and lets others shine
Truth.

Edwards doesn’t draw the penalties from falling in tackles though.

We need a @Captain Apollo Simpsons caption of Bellamy devising a plan to blunt Grant’s effectiveness by running big forwards all night, only to realise 16 other NRL coaches are watching.

To be fair, that was I Cleary’s 2024 GF game plan.

just watched the game on delay in the UK - as with most origins these days overhyped and instantly forgettable (was sick of hearing klines whistle)- some very ordinary and ageing players on the field - when the kangaroos come to the UK for the ashes series in the autumn without their glamour coats it should make for a good old fashioned ashes test series -

Moses had one of the quietest games ever for an Origin half, in a side that was totally dominant.

What's his role? Just watch Cleary?

Some pretty negative overall comments about the game. I thought it was a pretty good watch on the whole and Im a QLD supporter.

The game was definitely played at a higher speed than any club game this year. Defence from both teams were pretty much a pass mark. Attack from both sides was clunky. Parts of this were due to great defence and parts due to the halves on both sides not getting it right. The NSW halves just did not really gel yesterday while the QLD halves were very hampered by their forwards coming off very much second best to the NSW forwards. The few chances QLD did get, they seemed not up to it. They won't drop DCE as he is captain but I think his rep papers will be pretty much stamped at the end of this series.
