Sloan talented , has had ample time to show he is ready , in a top 4 team where he doesn't have to do too much defending on the wing maybe ok long term ......... But as you say he possesses no aggression at all , thats why I can not see him being a long serving fullback ....... I hope Im wrong and does make it ........
Mate. I criticise this team a lot. I’m always very negative in how I see things. But I’m always very happy to be proven wrong. I think Sloan is the most overrated player I have ever seen. But if he turns out to be a consistently good player. I’ll be over the moon.

I admit I've only seen the KOE Dragons when they've been on Fox earlier in the season but I read the match reviews and one forward who doesn't seem to get rewarded for his efforts is Jett Liu- a big strong prop-early 20s-just the size and age we need. Can't understand what's going on there. Last weekend he was described by a NSWRL match reviewer as being "exceptional" or a word to that effect. Certainly, made me sit up- none of our NRL middles have played the opposition off the park.
Yes, I'd like to see him selected in the top 17. Maybe he will show enough to be given a good fo this season Just like:
Eagan
R Couchman
T Couchman
Stewart
Tonga

If we could sign Hass, there are a few good juniors coming through.

Exceptional? Phil Gould‘s ears just pricked.

I think SF kept KF at 5/8 because the left side was our gun attacking combination. And the understandings were built all through pre-season. So I can understand SF's reluctance to change that. We usually out-score the opposition for tries....and missed conversion kicks losing us games. I think we can all agree on that.

Realistically, LKT is not in the top 10 NRL halves. Could be solid, but as much as people try to talk him up, - I'm not seeing any X-factor about him, yet. (But obviously I'm a poor judge. I can live with that.)

At the end of the day, we need to focus on dominating in the forwards so our backs can run on. Not throwing hurried, flat passes to each other, -which is what happens when forwards don't out-muscle their opposition.

Shuffling the deckchairs? I'm okay with that.
Agree regarding LKT, I haven’t seen much to say he’s going ti be a dominate half YET!
I actually thought I had seen more in Sullivan & Amone . And we look how they both turned out.
Though after watching nsw cup last week. Illias is definitely not ready to come back. Though a few losses in a row may propel inclusion of Glover
As you mentioned forwards, they control the game. With no go forward the halves can’t do much besides long kick for some type of field position.

That would make sense to give Sloan the sack after scoring two tries in winning side.
Have you seen his defence??
I thought Allan has been solid in that aspect.
While Sloan attemtps to take the hard runs but doesn’t break a tackle, way too small .

Sloan’s last few games :

95m
125m
74m
107m

you think this is acceptable from a winger ?? I don’t!

I would put Corey Allan in and drop Suli. Corey Allan can play centre and has played Origin. He played his 1 game at fullback I might add. He has not been too bad in his couple of games. Sloan has his good and bad. Suli is mostly bad.
After watching Origin last night, it would have been so good if Parra got Suli and Saints kept Lomax. Imagine Lomax and Holmes in the centres....wow.

But Lomax is not a centre. The last 2 seasons have proved his best position is on the wing.
So no, I don’t care to imagine Lomax and Holmes in the centres. Lomax on the wing outside Holmes? Now that would be much better.

I just saw this....

Late Mail: Dragons recruit Nathan Lawson is set to make his NRL debut after switching codes from Rugby Sevens. While unclear at this stage who he would be replacing, the Dragons tweeted on Thursday that Lawson would become Dragon No. 288. While Lawson’s inclusion could suggest Valentine Holmes will not be backing up from Origin, Code Sports reported he has been cleared to play.

I think Lawson was supposed to be right side, but Allans injury and Val coming back from origin.. think hes just slotting in where hes needed.. I actually dont know if he has a preference tbh cause he gets moved around a bit in cup.. hope he has a solid game.. glad hes not coming in facing Coates or MarkN or someone.. gonna take him some time to reach his potential.

The good thing if Val plays is Lawson is pretty quick, he will be there in support.
