works hard on kick chase
Thats my guess. The kick chase has fallen off noticeably since Berry got injured, pretty much from the moment he went down against the cowboys. And he was having a great game. I think thats a big part of Websters plan. DWZ seems to not try too hard if he doesnt think he can compete for the ball in the air, whereas Berry guns it down there regardless ( as much as he can with his forrest gump legs). He might just put DWZ to shame and spark him up. Ali was not gunning it last week. Ali is the casualty until they figure out what they are doing with Pompey. Thats my theory anyway, totally unsubstantiated of course.

Yep fair point. Rocco's kick chase definitely fits Webster's preferred MO. Just unusual he didn't give Ali an opportunity to lift his efforts (if that's what cost him).

Anyway, rest of the team looks solid, especially if Barnett backs up... hopefully Sydney's monsoon season has finished and we get a nice dry track for the 2pm kick off.

Be interesting to see how Barnett goes and whether he backs up. Few teams have the luxury of resting players with how the season is….

Kosi's back to 'full fitness' btw. So expect to see his name again if someone else goes down.

I've always giggled a bit at kick chase being a metric. I get it, it's relevant, but it's just a bloke running after a ball. It shouldn't be something that separates players, surely...unless it's the competing once you get there.

Ali didn't play Cup today. The top grade teamlist hasn't changed in the 24 hour update, so maybe Ali is injured?

I guess a good kick chase + strong linespeed for next couple tackles restricts attacking meterage, meaning you should get the ball back in better field position?

Ali's injury is not showing in casualty ward. No word on the Warriors official website? Must be a personal reason?

Oh yeah it's important, no doubt. I just don't see how there'd be a massive difference in it between players. Why Rocco would be any better than any other player at simply running in a straight line towards a ball in the air

Latrell is in.
Sadly, I'm not. Post-hernia op and the flu on top of that I just don't feel robust enough to go.

Warriors games are big days out for me, I'm very social, with hours spent mingling before and after kick-off. Hours getting to and from the ground (there's trackwork today too) and the prospect of that 'never shuts up Olympic Stadium ground announcer', well, I need to be strong for him.

To all those going I hope you have a blast.

Heal up brother Blair. Hope you can catch it on the TV and keep comfy.
