Yeah the red zone stuff is still a bit of a problem but much improved on recent years. We do occasionally run some slick set moves inside the red zone now (Timoko's try against the Titans as an example). The offloading is providing a good source of points and i feel that's at least somewhat reliable. But yeah, still a lot of crash balls haha
We scored 3 tries vs Titans (first time we played) going left, from the same structure- once to Hudson tearing back on an inside line, next time Hudson was the decoy and Strange ran a straight line to score and the 3rd time after setting the defence on high alert for those two, it went out the back and Kris scored. Effing beautiful, exactly what well drilled teams can do and exactly how to work over a defence with a nice shape, which allows variations off the same shape to force tough decisions and prey upon what previous played have conditioned them to expect.
On the right we have the run around play with several variations. There's a few others but those stand out.
I'd say structured attack to compliment the chaosball has been the most significant upgrade of the season. We score from a structured red (or reddish) zone play most matches, sometimes multiple. That's why we've gone from scoring 2 tries, maybe 3 or 4 if we can get lucky to scoring 4 tries regularly and cutting teams apart if we are hot.
