Is he managed by Satan? If so, it makes perfect sense. Otherwise it's a completely boneheaded move. That is unless we're on the verge of signing some superstar centre like Pezz said, and they plan to start Makasini in 1st grade very soon and feel he's going to be better than To'a almost immediately.

If not then it's plain stupid as he's been one of our best, if not the best this year.
When will this Madness ever stop DOM. I'm so over it.
Why don't we spend a ¼ of our cap on each of three stars like Haas and co and a ¼ for the rest of the team.
Why don't we put all 30 players names in a hat and throw it in the air. Whatever names land face up then they are playing next game.
Why don't we only sign players with 4 or more vowels in their surname?

Toa seems a humble type. I wonder if he even knows how good he is. Hopefully he doesn’t untill after he’s signed. But I think the cats out of the bag for everyone re his value..and he’s looking for a fair $$ . ..Benji rates him and will need to front with a better than solid offer to keep him. I can’t see drama from him if he’s looked after

Just when he's hitting his straps and we finally get some value out of him it looks like he may sail west.
I still have hope in him staying.
Agree, I think if he leaves, it's a bit ungrateful on his part, the club has stood by him for a couple of years, but he doesn't come across that way, so we will see.

Same same.
Judging by his body language, Ii think he gets on well with May, Luai and Taruva but money talks hey.

I feel like his intention is to stay at Tigers. We showed our hand with Galvin contract that we have over 1.2 million free for next year, so I'm sure this is his manager agitating for more money. He definitely helped his case with his form against Cowboys.

I would really like to see him re-signed, even if it's slightly on overs. I don't recall ever seeing our right side centre and wing playing well enough to build a combination together, but To'a and Turuva are legit doing that right now.

I think To'a is our best ever centre talent wise. I'm trying to think who is better. Interestingly we bought him through via spotting his talent early.

The thing with To'a he'll have to deliver a lot more to be our best ever centre. We need the guy on the park for a couple of years to show us what he can do.

I’m expecting him to sign with Perth on a lucrative contract we can’t compete with

Yeah Perth is a worry.

However he should stay, the Tigers have stuck by him and he's starting to hit his straps.

But if he leaves, what does that say about the culture at the Tigers and it being a place where players want to play at? Will it be more evidence, that we have problems?

I know I'm a 'negative nellie' but it's hard not to be.

I think (is it) 11 years since being in the top 8, probably does take it's toll on some players, and we (as supporters) have a right to be, but look at some of the players we've signed recently, so it cancels it out a bit, but I've always believed the players need to look at themselves, before they worry about the club.
We have a state of the art COE.
Healthy financial backing.
Reasonable membership, considering what we've been doing in the comp.
And starting to develop a few through the pathways.

I think we are struggling a bit with coaching, but a few of the better players came here because of Benji.
BUT Star, I would consider him to be ungrateful to walk away, considering how the club has stood by him, imo.
My major gripe, is we don't play enough games at LO where the crowd generally lifts them up, Richo Iikes the bigger arenas, for the money & I do understand that, but it shouldn't override winning.
Anyway, it is what it is, we'll get there eventually.

Perth is a worry for Api as well.
We have to decide between Api and DaSilva imo.
Perth will pick the eyes out of all clubs like us and the Broncos with Cobbo.

Rowdy b4 the horrendous hip dislocation was phenomenal & easily the supreme centre we’ve ever had.IMO Whatuira was also way better than Toa.The imbecilic Simona was quite talented albeit the knuckleheads greed resulted in termination of his contract.
Toa needs to be more consistent as he has played numerous shithouse games for us.He probably needs to be hypnotised into believing he’s playing against the cows each wk.

Lawrence was better prior to his hip injury. I don't think Whatuira was. I like Whatuira as well but he was a mature centre who lacked some zip. Mature just means he was in complete control of his game. Simona was real good but I don't think he was at the level To'a is at now.

To'a hasn't played numerous shithouse games. He has just been injured and he is only young. To'a is 24. I think it's a massive misread when people state this. I said at the start of the year he was easily our best centre.

Plyas 2-3 good games a year, hampered with injury, I wouldn't be annoyed if he did leave considering we have juniors coming up in those spots -- just got to sign them up long term

Well he’s played more than a handful of good games this year - in a position we’ve struggled with enormously over our franchise

I think we ‘d be silly to not dangle a lucrative carrot for him but if another club offers him insane money then fair enough.

my point is we’re not littered with game breakers atm

You forgot to mention average defender. I still think we should keep him, as long as the price is reasonable. To keep a fella like him you’d give him $50k a year over what he is worth but I wouldn’t be stretching it
