Also Brian Johnson. Why not. It's also terrible that Peter Jackson isn't around either.
RIP.

Nah Freddy is hopeless tooYou think Fittler is an upgrade? FMD... I reckon that will convince Haas to play for Samoa, and a few others will follow him out the door.
Agree, but I'll wait and see what actual coaching team is assembled before casting a final decision on the Pears coaching structureNah Freddy is hopeless too
Just think meninga is a really bad choice for Perth
They are stupidly copying gws and that’s a bad example to follow
Yep that’s him. Last place with 3 wins and the worst attack and defence.Macqueen? I remember that well.
They should've brought Cartwright back from England or lured Willie Peters to see if he's ready for a shot in the NRL.Nah Freddy is hopeless too

They still might after Brad Arthur passedThey should've brought Cartwright back from England or lured Willie Peters to see if he's ready for a shot in the NRL.
The latter has turned Hull KR into something of late.
TBF in the last 30 odd year history of the NRL every expansion team bar 1 has struggled on the field for the first few years. I'm not expecting us to be any different, in fact given the challenges and short lead in time we'll probably do it tough for a while. As long as we aren't getting flogged every week and building off the field then we just have to accept it will take time.Meninga isn’t a good pick IMO but time will tell. I do think there will be a big narrative change over the next few years once reality sets in. Unlike the AFL we don’t gift all our expansion clubs massive salary cap exemptions to let them dominate every year. It’s not only possible but likely that a lot
of our expansion clubs will struggle initially.
I think you’ll read a lot of articles talking about how the bears were a failure and the perils of expansion etc in the coming years after the expected growing pains.
Winning 2 or 3 more games isn't going to suddenly make the Pears "popular" in Perth.Nah Freddy is hopeless too

The issue for the Pears, is how long before the Sydney media (and fans) start calling for them to return to the East Coast. This shit will happen, and people need to be ridiculed when they suggest it.Meninga isn’t a good pick IMO but time will tell. Almost every expansion team in sports history has struggled in their first season, any new club needs to expect this.TBF in the last 30 odd year history of the NRL every expansion team bar 1 has struggled on the field for the first few years. yep, Im very realistic in my expectations. It's year 5-10 where we need to see improvement and hope. If not it an get like Titans where fans start to get sick of watching a losing club. But Dolphins will be in similar boat if they stay around the 12 spot or worse. Nothing unique to Perth.Almost every expansion team in sports history has struggled in their first season, any new club needs to expect this.
Melbourne got lucky in 1998 on the back of the original Perth team folding and the Hunter Mariners folding after the ARL/SL merger.TBF in the last 30 odd year history of the NRL every expansion team bar 1 has struggled on the field for the first few years. Canberra struggled too before they raided the BRL bringing in Meninga, Belcher, the Walters brothers and got Stuart from union.Storm titans and dolphins all did very well when they were brought in
Maybe the knights and Steelers struggled early on
Dolphins 13th, 10th, currently 11thStorm titans and dolphins all did very well when they were brought in

Titans top fourDolphins 13th, 10th, currently 11th
Titans 12th, 13th, 3rd, 4th, last
The only club to start strong was Storm, largely due to News ltd money and availability of players due to rationalisation.
Like I said every club bar Storm have struggled first few years.Titans top four
Dolphins almost made semis in year one
Clubs are being admitted now which have strong backing which didn’t happen before (and also strong junior bases)
