Penisni junior has nothing in his game that makes him a threat outwide. TCT rated = overrated.

actually Twiddle looks good. He looks to be a future 13.
For those playing at home, TCT don’t really talk up Richard Penisini as a glowing prospect. They do Twiddle however.

For some reason MON and co haven’t apparently made him an offer for 2026 yet, could be wrong but that’s what his father said 2 weeks ago.
Did he say whether any other clubs had made offers? Talagi and Sanders were receiving interest while still in SG Ball. Twidle played in that same team.

I don’t know much about either of them other than that the club doesn’t rate them as much as fellow 21 year olds Guymer and Pryke. I assume Brown and Neemia lack the mobility for first grade. They are both a year older than Tuivaiti but well behind him.

Neemia is killing it on Flegg.. Seems to have a lower centre of mass as well when he runs which makes it harder to tackle him..

Brown needs polishing though but takes good runs..

CUP have the Wahs this weekend at Kellyville Saturday at 1pm.

With the NRL boys hopefully all getting their RDOs I would like to see some of the potential Flegg players getting a run in CUP..

Pryke should be starting 13..
Neemia/Brown/Lokeni/Lynn/Hudson/De Stratis x2

Plenty of reserve graders were great attacking players when they played against kids their own age. The difference between them and the blokes who make it in the NRL is their defence. For forwards this doesn’t mean crunching anyone stupid enough to run at them. It means mobility (i.e. lateral movement + work rate).

Yep and that's also only going to be tested playing against older and more experienced players in CUP.

look, I’d be the first to admit that I know nothing about developing young players but I get a little dissapointed with the fact that we continue to draft players from our third tier side to make up the numbers…I reckon there were about 5 or 6 Wenty players who played cup on the weeken.

i really don’t think it’s necessary with the talent we have in Flegg atm.

No, testing starts long before merkins get a run in higher grades. That’s how clubs decide who gets a run and who doesn’t. They already know which Flegg players (or Flegg graduates) will struggle in NSW Cup, because they observe them in the junior grades and test them at training. If you can’t do it at training you’ll never do it on game day.

This isn’t to say that players who train well will automatically make it. But it’s the first barrier. They need to prove they deserve a chance in a higher grade (e.g. NSW Cup). Then they need to prove they can handle that grade. There aren’t enough reserve grade opportunities to give every Flegg player a run. Those opportunities go to the players who prove their speed/strength/fitness/technical ability and professionalism beforehand.
