So they do it directly in some circumstances and indirectly in others.

Directly on permanent immigration is one, there's a legislated limit

Indirectly on say temporary student visa's, in that they allow it, but there is no legislated limit. Same with working holidays, temporary workers etc.

People are too quick to blame AI these days. In my view, it's real until proven otherwise.

He is a complete nutter and is a danger to world peace.
His tweets over the past few days regarding the Israel/Iran conflict are seriously concerning.
The US should absolutely be held accountable if this conflict gets out of control, which it may do.
These are seriously troubling times.

- Russia invading a sovereign Ukraine. 3 years on there's over a million casualties just on the Russian side. There is no end in sight to this easily avoidable war.
- Israel starting a war with Iran now. The US getting involved. This won't end well.
- Israel bombing the f**k out of Gaza. There are no winners out of that.

I traveled to Europe in 1991 for 6 months, after the collapse of the Eastern Bloc. The most peaceful time for decades imo. I travelled to Russia/former Soviet countries. Everyone was at peace. Except the Balkans at that time.

I'm really concerned about world peace atm.

Israel under Netanyahu, Russia under Putin - both supported by the US under Trump.

Once those three are gone from power, then world is an infinitely more peaceful and better place.

It's been a shitshow with Trump getting voted in to this much power on the world stage, by a minority of US citizens under their electoral system.

I think you'll find Trump got about 2 million plus more votes than Harris.

Not only with World Peace

What about here in our own backyard i know its bit different.

But still you have underworld and gangland shootings happening weekly here in Sydney & some of the idiots that have been hired as hitmen can't even get the right target so we have innocent victims dying.

Its almost become sanitized now in the media because of its regularity. Its no longer a big event if some

Melbourne is basically the same.

Would that not be the case for most any other "Democratic" election held anywhere else in the "free world" over the last 10 yrs?
In countries without compulsory voting and with low voter turn out, yes.
Non voters are non voters. Are you trying to attribute some kind of political allegiance to the non voters of the U.S.?
No, not trying to attribute any allegiance to lazy f**kers who don't turn out to vote, other than ignorance and stupidity.

My point was more in marvel that the choice of a minority of people in one country can have such a wrecking ball effect on world affairs, including peace and safety.

53.5% of the US population did not vote at all.

In 2020 Biden got 24.5% of the vote also a minority.............
