Didn’t get to see the 2nd half as I was out for dinner. Will have to watch a replay. Happy to get the win. I had a feeling (with no real confidence) we might get up with some players back this week, changed my tip to us yesterday after picking Phins early in the week.

Nice. Everyone has been getting smashed by the Phins. Good to see us contain them.

Best was just lovely. Dom never left. Gagai tried his arse off again. Ponga more involved. Cogger not terrible. Brailey was the only shocker out there tonight. Good to see!

Win aside which is obviously nice, but we managed to keep a Dolphins side that’s been destroying other teams on the edges to 20 points, despite carrying Dom who’s had his confidence absolutely destroyed by his previous club. I’m super proud of them for that.

The only one I thought was bad was Brailey and he’s leaving anyway so I’m not too bothered.

We need to find a way to keep Best on the field more because he’s usually the difference.

Great win. Shame about the “forward pass” call because that could have been a contender for try of the season. But overall it was a good performance and we earned it.

Man it’s hard to dislike Brodie Jones, he’s a fairly average footballer but he’s an honest toiler and every now and then he comes up with a big play. That try was just pure effort and good on him for being in the position to get the ball and do enough to plant it. He’s had a few game winning tries like that, notably the one against the Dolphins in the final regular season round last year, which was basically a knockout final, and I remember him getting a late try against the warriors in a wet weather game a few years ago. Then there’s that Sharks game where he came up with a bunch of game defining plays. Love seeing a guy make the most of what he’s got and no-one can deny he’s doing that.

Dom was 100% playing injured today.

Any reports of a pre-existing injury or picking something up in the game?

He was walking gingerly in backplay, and didnt not even try to chase on the Hammer try.

Didn’t look injured to me but it definitely looks like he’s lost some fitness.

I thought he played about as well as he could have all things considered. Would have been great for his confidence to grab a try.

The only 2nd half points they scored were when we were down to 12 men. Defended well considering the strike power they have all across the field.

Herbie is a special player- his halves give him so much quality early ball to make the most of his talent.

He grabbed the third try.

Cogger redemption arc in full swing, he's been playing really decent footy for a month now but that might have been his best game for the Knights. If it wasn't for Bradman being outstanding he was probably our best player.

Also don't get the Brailey slander, other being asleep at the wheel and having the ball stolen he was very sharp and a big reason we played so fast in the first half.

Two tries including the match winner in both this game and the manly game came directly from us contesting high kicks, how insane was it that for the best part of the year we were been deliberately coached to not contest kicks?

It would have made sense if we were scoring in other areas but completely mental given the historically bad attack.

Full credit to Cogger. He looks like he has been allowed to play what he sees. His running game I never saw coming. His kick vision at present is quality - that cross field kick to Dom on halftime was great to see - and he just looks like he belongs. Let us hope this is the part of his career where he fulfills all he promised as a junior.

Was a great game, ha a bit of everything, all 17 played well and the fwd pass call was a bit stiff would have been a great try with the build up. Credit to the team to keep battling away and then come up with the winning try.
Gagai has been kicking well and with Ponga not kicking I don’t see an option for 2026 unless we keep Gags

With J Saf scheduled to return next week, the timing could not be better. I think the game on Friday Night sells out or goes close. A Raiders’ scalp would change our season. It will be a great game of footy.

I agree with this. The Raiders are the real deal this year and we have a chance to ambush them at home. JSaf would be a huge in and we need him to be the alpha and stand up to their pack. If we can hold them in the forwards and get some reasonable field position then we’ve got the quality in the backs to get the win.
