Just commenting on what the Club will do with Dean Young! They brought him back to be head Coach!
They have to get more respectful the way they are treating the players. Deano and Willie T look good to me together! Flanno has failed a couple of times in pressers, that torching of Illias was disgraceful! Flanno is old style power sets and not praising players! The game is different now, it has moved on from that!
Loved Deano as a player, done zero in my eyes to justify being a head coach in the nrl at this point in time

Love that thinking!
The players all love Willie and he gets results! He has to be with Dean Young next year!
Sorry TBD, are you saying that Willie should be the assistant to Dean Young next year or that Willie be the head coach and Dean under him as an assistant

I don't think that Dean Young would like to be an assistant to Willie, TBD. Dean would cry to his daddy and complain and have it turned around that he be head coach and Willie to be his assistant.

I think having Dean as any coach at the Dragons has had some detrimental affects on our results last year and this year so far plus, wasn't it him who had a swipe at Francis Molo about his past drinking habits which infuriated Molo and made him want out of the Dragons which eventuated and he is doing quite well at the Dolphins now?

Yes. Willie to be head coach but not have Dean Young is what I feel but you have your reasons TBD and it is good that you have joined up with the Dragons Forum.

I watched the KOE cup game yesterday and while we won I don't think the side was overly impressive against a pretty ordinary Wests outfit considering we had a considerable representation from our top grade squad. Got off to a great start but Wests got back into it and the game was in the balance for quite a while in the second half. I didn't think the halves shot the lights out and laid a claim to replace Kyle Flanagan.

Very negative Parko, I think our pathways are finally starting to work. Unfortunately an often used cliche on here is very true “ you have only 30 in the main squad and you can’t keep them all “

Does anyone think young Kade Reed will be fast-tracked to NSW cup next year? Kid is killing it
Yes, but ideally we should have an experienced halves partner to make it work.

Willie had proven himself at each stage of his coaching career, to be an outstanding coach who gets results. He has earned consideration for the assistant coach position.

Current assistant coaches have not lived up to expectations. Replace them with Willie and one other. Let Young and Carr ply their trade somewhere else.

Whilst not my first choice(prefer Taylor or Willie Peters )
I see plenty of merit in a Young/Talau combination
It will work well

I tell you what possm, if Willie Talau somehow wins the premiership with his KOE Cup squad this year and I really hope he does, his value would increase for sure and might end up elsewhere like in Super League or first grade assistant at some other NRL Club. He is a coach that deserves special attention and treatment by our Administration and if they fail to do so I would be very disappointed. He has been very dedicated to our youth and the young guys would be appreciating his coaching and management of them. I'd say even the older ones that flitter in and out from firsts to reserves would attest to that.

I wonder what Flanno thinks of Willie and if he might think that he could be a threat to his role as the head coach of the NRL side? Willie has obtained fantastic results in the past few years and recently as opposed to what Flanno has achieved even though first grade and reserve grade is like chalk and cheese but you see what I mean?

Couldnt agree more , about 9 had played at least 1 first grade game or more. They should have blown them off the park. I’m a Ramsay fan but starting to think as the season goes on that his form is slipping, that is not a criticism the man is a legend after what he has been through but I can’t imagine what it must be like doing 80 minutes of body contact sport with his issues.

To be fair, is it 8 straight wins now.. cant expect them to be right-up each week.. but in the end they put them away convinsingly, and Wests were willing for most of the match... the Flegg team was also.

In terms of Willie, honestly no rush whatsoever.. spend 10-15yrs head coaching cup and at some point assistant coaching at various organisations.... even overseas... this is his first year coaching men (well actually a lot of his squad are still boys tbh), by the time hes ready for 1st grade coaching, he needs to have given himself the absolute best base for success... you really only get 1 crack at it.

If Flanno does get the flick, why not go to market and get the best available coach. Or do you think Young is the best coach out there without an NRL gig?

I don’t mind going to the market
As I have said before the likes of Taylor and Willie Peters Should be looked at
The succes of Wolf and the ever improving Ryles who are 15 odd games in an NRL career prove there is talent out there
We were promised a big second year by the coach and so far not delivered
He has 11 rounds to turn it around and if he is good enough he will
This is his team he has signed 14 of the current 28 contracted and another 8 of the 28 he has resigned
It’s now his roster and he needs to get the team into the finals
Time for more excuses are over
