I'd be surprised if they really got over 15,000.
Got to keep the myth that novacastrians come out one way or another.
What myth? Newcastle fans have well and truly shown that they still deliver even when the knights aren’t going well (which is basically the status quo for the knights at this point). Sounds like sour grapes on your end.

The manly crowd was surprisingly large. The Newcastle crowd was surprisingly small. Life goes on

Manly have had good crowds all year, so tonight's crowd wasn't surprising to me.

I was hoping for around 20k for the Knights tonight, so 17.5k is a bit disappointing. Our next game against the Storm is on 3pm Saturday so that should be a bigger crowd.

Fair play to Manlys crowd, but surely that hill is nearing the end of its life. The viewing experience would be very average. Some people are sitting, some standing at random. People walking past in the concourse all game.

The viewing experience can be very average, for anyone under 6ft 2inches, source....my wife.

The atmosphere more than makes up for it.

I can't see a scenario in my lifetime where there isn't some sort of hill on the Eastern side of Brookie. They may eventually build a grandstand with a smaller hill in front, which has been put forward as an idea for the last 30 years, along with a thousand "artists impressions".

All we hear from fans of teams that play at suburban grounds is how much better the atmosphere is and how the fans prefer it.

At least Manly fans live that mantra.

Crowd of less than 20k for the Knights game last night is a worry. The fans are loyal but they've had enough of O'Brien and change needs to be made.

Excuses for not sacking O'Brien:
- Can't sack him because he has a contract.
- Can't sack him because who ya gonna get?
- Can't sack him because he once won 10 games in a row.
- Can't sack him because he's taken the Knights to finals in four of his five seasons at the helm.

The only reason he hasn't been sacked yet is because our owners are cheap.

You do also realise he has been involved in 4 grand finals?
Unsackable baby.
