Eagles are a complete and utter dumpster fire so perfect time for the Bears to strike. People often make the mistake of putting WA in the same basket as SA and Victoria aka hardcore rusted on AFL heartland, but there is plenty of interest in rugby league and once the Bears enter people will see rugby league is far more than just a niche sport in WA.

Sorry no business worth its salt wastes money time & time again and says it's OK we got a lot of it.
If you continue to put in good money after bad, aka the Giants year after year and only continue marking time , then head office officials would be lucky to get a real job in private enterprise.
They could get a job with the Nauru AFL.
Note some higher ups within the AFL are saying the Giants expenditure is a waste of space with little to show for it. Remember Folau was going to get all the Polynesian kids to jump on board. The waste in N.Z. And they are not happy with the Suns.
Can't get your hand off it , the AFL that is mate.
Over on big footy they're talking up a second AFL team in Brisbane how quickly they forget it was only 10 years ago when they were saying the Lions and Suns need to merge.

That’s interesting Peter Cummins was allowed on the board

Wonder if he’s allowed to be a future investor too after the nrl cashes out

Prtty good board line up. Only Hockey and Bracey with any controversy about them. Will be the only perth sports club with the majority of directors on the east cost which is interesting . Couple of Vlandys NSW gee gee mates getting a seat Smacks of nepotism.

Perth still has it's training wheels on, first taste of big time international sport.

Need to have some experienced people in charge holding their hand.

Business men with decent knowledge on rl & the inner workings of how it financially operates ?
Hockey was a banking & finance lawyer before becoming a politician. He was involved in setting up an advisory & investment firm in Washington DC.
And your'e a judge of business credentials ?
Bracey knows the code & works in television. The sport is a televised one.Let's get a You Tube influencer.
If there was a rush of WA qualified business types to want on the board, please fill us in Captain. And I'll eat humble pie.

🎯.
Same broadcaster, no less, with the high likelihood of Nine being taken care of in the next broadcast deal.

So two of the Norths appointees are the only ones with controversy around them, but then you go on to point out PVL's nepotism without tarring it with the same brush?

At least theres an argument for NS having board reps being a partner in the club (though 3 seems 2 too many). Having two of Vlads NSW racing mates on the board? hmmmm.

That's what I'm saying. Nepotism is the problem, not the other thing.

Also 3 out of 9 isn't anywhere near too many. Could understand where you were coming from if it were 5 or more.

The majority are NSW based board members, for a WA club that's not great, imo.
NS have 3 reps WA RL only 2. Again is this a Perth club or not?
Dicko makes total sense and no problem at all with him on the board.

The issue should be about how qualified they are. If I were launching a national sporting franchise and appointing a brand-new board of directors to guide it, a candidate's residency would be at the very bottom of my list of things I'd care about.

True but that's making a pretty big assumption that there aren't equally or better qualified candidates living in Perth. Given the amount of big business here it seems a stretch to suggest so. And given all the board members are from Sydney or Perth Id suggest residency played a big part in the appointments, unless there was no-one from Qlnd or Victoria fit for the role?

I think theres 5 very good choices and 4 that I'd question, on the surface, but have to trust they are there for the right reasons and will contribute to the success of the PERTH Bears.

But are they interested in joking the board of a NRL club?
