Some say we got the wrong rookie coach….Ciraldo’s first couple of seasons were a bit sketchy but look at him now……also look at who he has overseeing & basically running the show …… Gus. Fitz has no mentor at the Sharks.
I think that that would be the almost universal opinion - apart from Fritz’s closest supporters…

Structural issues. Collective mindset. Professionalism. The issues are many, varied and run deep.

Something will have to give. This ain't getting better without big changes in desire.

If that were the case, who should be the one/s to go. It's always easier to punt the coach but this lot of players aren't winning jack for any coach
The coach goes, and if we remember the club sacked John Morris when he was going as bad as this.
Fresh coach not affiliated to current mob who starts moving players on.
The Bulldogs seem to have been getting results moving players on

Might want to move quick if Peters is being mentioned for Tigpies
That wouldn't surprise me as Shane Richardson was in the UK.
I would sign Sam Burgess I don't care he has had issues, it's about winning, he comes over that if a player lets him down they will know about it no uncertain terms

Well that's because they have Phil Gould running the joint and he just bought Penrith players.

Dogs have a got a bit of a moneyball situation there.
Tracey
Montoya
Xerri
Sexton
Mann
Salmon
Curren
King

The average wage I'd say for this lot would 400K.

Comes down to training then.

They're fit. Tough. Play above their weight.
Led by a fierce competitor in Chrichton.

i really think the long tenure of our player and the lack of threat of moving on has a lot to do with this malaise hey

I agree.
There's no quick fix here.
We were a top 4 side 2 years ago. But a player reaches the end of his career quicker than he plans.
JT great example.

I think Fitzy has a few guys who have peaked in their game. Also dont think Fitzy or his crew are the type to improve a guys game or develop skills like Ciraldo and Taylor are doing. Like Ciraldo did with cleary and a host of young pennies 6 or 7 years ago. Like Kristen Wolf is doing with katoa the young half. Like Bellamy does with any player of any age who walks into his club, even guys at the end of their careers.

We are a team on the slide for all to see.
And Fitz has spoken to them about defence for 3 years. About playing for 80 mins for 3 years. He's had his honesty session.
He still cannot get certain guys to follow basic RL instincts.

He is now at the point where he has to change things up. Even if it means 2 or 3 back to reggies to freshen up and show him they want another chance.
If he sends this mob out again in 2 weeks he deserves to get smacked.

But what we need first up is a tougher halfback. A guy with balls. A winner.
Do we have one?
Maybe the least looking candidate is that guy. Brayley.

I reckon if Hynes doesn't play against Dolphins we see a totally different side right across the park.

Is there any evidence to that?

Yep. Only last year.

July 2023 I said this, surprised it took this long for it to really appear

I don't think there's any improvement left in a single one of them tbh, the reality is last season was their peak and due to them all being re-signed there is absolutely no room left to even begin any sort of squad rebuild over the next 2 seasons.

Not bottom 3 teams bad but that next titans/knights level up tier is where we'll be at next season.

2 years later its been rubber stamped.
Why can't the guy paid to be all over that identify it?
I think Fitz is the type of guy to be too close to his players to the teams detriment

It will be to his detriment if something doesn't change soon
Look at the Roosters this year lost a ton of players in front of us.
They dropped a premiership winning half, through an unknown in, moved Brandon Smith on mid season as well, getting the best out of a old fullback, who is past his prime but still better then ours and a young backline

In 4 years he has yet to get Ramien to draw and pass consistently, how a centre with 150 games cannot do the basic job, and the coach keep him
